Stand up gig number 5 done. 8hr round trip for 12 minutes infront of a room full of strangers! @bisham.abbey in Marlow for @honkhot comedy events. I didn't do enough prep but landed some big laughs from the audience which was fun and a few awkward moments when I lost my train of thought and had to salvage the flow. What a thrill.
Just two bearded British Sri Lankan dudes chopping it up. @generaldeluxe If you've noticed my matching gillet and Air Max 1s by @pendletonwm we can be friends. Plus vintage @levislondon Red denim jacket. @cafe___mountain trousers and a pair of Gucci glasses from the 90s. Photo by a moustached British Sri Lankan @discobill85
Brexit cost the UK economy £240 billion. And the self same people who pushed it through have managed to shift blame away from their own complicity in this disaster and onto the shoulders of immigrants. I cannot believe millions of British people are so gullible. But I guess if you believe "Kev on Facebook" who by the way is probably some Indian teenager monetizing British bigotry, over an actual expert, then we are doomed. Unless we fight back and make sure our vote matters.
I want to tell you a story about my Meisterstuck @montblanc pen. For years I have written all of my notes for almost every interview that I've done using this pen. It was a gift from the wonderful people at Montblanc. I once posted a picture of my pen and a list of the guests that I had that week on my BBC 5Live show. It was a seriously impressive list of guests.
My agent then gets a call from BBC management saying that if I don't take the picture down they will have to take me off air. Because they received ONE complaint. This is an hour before I am due to present my show. Their reasoning being that if there was suddenly a big story involving a Montblanc pen then my impartiality would be compromised. I did of course ask "you mean if an International head of state was suddenly bludgeoned to death with a luxury pen?" Silence.
The reason I am telling you this story is to highlight the utter absurdity of BBC editorial policy and the sham of impartiality. They couldn't get much right when it came to the plight of Palestinians but my gosh they were on it when it came to luxury pens.
