Forgive us for giving up our souls — souls whose light reflects Your brilliance in ways that make suns explode in envy- Thank you blessing us with souls that Emanate A light that does not blind, but reveals the way for everyone lost in the darkness, where impulse is all we have to navigate. In support of The Okra Project. It’s current ED Gabrielle Souza & Dominique Morgan it’s former ED + broader trans community Okra Project is a lifeline that is being neglected for a reputation that had been caused by a misappropriation of funds, by years old former leadership. Gabrielle Souza, is being mistreated for consequences of harm to the organization that was caused by a negligence she was & is not responsible for. Dominique was ED in the past & is facing legal consequences for impulsive and reactionary choices that are likely trauma rooted + likely to cause more harm to her. Her choices were made during a period she did not have the support she needed & was instead given a position of power over an organization that people depended on to survive. she was & is struggling without adequate support. Responding to moments when people cause hurt publicly can cause an immense amount of hurt to the person depending on how it’s done. I recognize the dynamics of privilege I hold in this scenario & I am choosing to speak up on behalf of the Okra project and the larger issue of our community’s failure re: care in sincerity- because the cost her rhetoric has on an organization that is supporting people’s lives is far too great. It is my intention to underscore Dominique’s achievements, struggle, and the care, protection & support she deserves + must also be extended to the organization & it’s leadership that her state has impacted. This piece is an offering for reflection in what it means to hold accountability and grace with same hands & heart, especially when we have been hurt, and while we are currently facing extreme violence in a very transphobic, misogynist and anti-black era. This is a call to consciousness. I bare witness that We are cannibalizing each other, and monetizing off of it to survive & we cannot blame anyone else for it, but our own betrayl of the very love ethic that made us thrive & made us survive in these safety nets. My grandmother has rejoined our Creator. She is Everything I believe in & live for— May peace be upon my beloved Lucia. through all the ways she has given my family; & everything taken from her that she grew back more beautiful than ever possible. Her Survival brought me to life.. I remember her through my responsibility, no matter how hard, no matter how hurt.

Just as Kamala Harris failed the election because she couldnt stand up for all children holistically- Without holistic liberation, we wont wake from this coma we been drugged into. We’ll toss turn & grunt to the beat of assault. But our collective body wont rise. Not without true love for our humanity. Cant you see how it eats the parts of us we let go? Little by little til theres nothing left. When will we see it? When weve given enough for the monster to reach the eye? Is it only then we’ll desire change? Or will it be when the ego dies totally of suffocating regret? Therell be no collective liberation for anyone without sincere, intersectional solidarity with all oppressed & persecuted people. This especially includes the ones you leave out. The ones you secretly hope to be stolen instead of you. The proscription of trans peoples visibility & liberation as a promotion of some corruption or secret agenda—is a destructive lie that has been uncovered. It plays the same song over the screams of children. its the same people who ignore the active war against children who’re now hurting trans people. The same people who’re trying very hard to bring us harm are being led by cannibals with an appetite for children. Theyre cannibals, too. They rationalize indiscriminate hostility against groups of people, whomever they may be. They feed on the substance of our joy, our love, our hearts, our minds, freedoms, & communities. They even consume our pain. They have the roaring appetite of those who are dead of spirit & consume the aliveness of others endlessly, without satiation. Their belief compels them to hurt the innocent. This Ramadan, I invite you to fast. Change your appetite for suffering. Shift your consumption & your participation away from the feast of our bodies. Share a definition of love with us that includes everyone. Is your free will over yourself not sufficient? Must you also have mine? Or will you Stand with us In the name of Love. In the name of Truth. In the name of our sincere witness— that we are, in fact, alive. That we are, in fact, free. We bare witness our inner world is TRUE & God made our Kingdoms for us to shape around Love.
