We had a fantastic time collaborating with several incredible artists on our last Wind Ensemble concert! Congrats to the Wind Ensemble on an exciting performance of unique and colorful repertoire. It is always a pleasure to collaborate with our wonderful faculty; and we were thrilled to perform with Dr. Elizabeth Sullivan, our associate professor of oboe, and Prof. Nick Ritter, instructor of bassoon on Jenni Brandon’s “The Orion.”
This concert was also the culmination of residency with the incredible @arunaquartet . Over the course of the week they gave lessons, coached a student saxophone quartet, and performed a recital for many of our students. A highlight of the week was performing Viet Cuong’s saxophone quartet concerto “Second Nature.” We are so happy to have had this fine ensemble on campus and to welcome back Andrew Schoen, Charlotte alum class of 2016 and baritone saxophone in the Aruna Quartet.
