sharing a clip of ‘to the memory of a little grasshopper,’ a reflective meditation on a theme from chopin’s 3rd ballade, here beautifully played by @huizizzzzzzzzz :) the piece veers between unmeasured aleatory and some of the more ‘classical’ music i’ve written; this passage is the rather frenetic climax. hope you enjoy!
Join us this June at Lincoln Center! Don’t miss our matinee featuring Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 and Bobby Ge’s The Play of Shine and Shade ☀️

was really grateful this past week to work with @fredoniau students @craneviolin@noah.grossbard@violarepp@angie.seamster on a quite impressive performance of my first string quartet, 'celeste forma' (originally written for the @bergamotquartet who are featured in this recording)! the suny show was actually the first live public performance of the whole thing i've gotten to be at, which was lovely :)
hope you enjoy!
Last night Ethos welcomed @bobbycge who gave a fantastic composition masterclass! Thank's to Ge's compositional advice, 4 Fredonia composers and all attendees had a great experience.
We're excited to see you at our TONIGHT'S Recital of Bobby Ge's works at 8pm in Rosch Recital Hall!

sharing a rather unhinged clip from 'continuity errors,' brilliantly performed by the phenomenal jonathan yanik as the 🎷 soloist with the @usnavyband ! the piece gets its manic energy and title from the world of filmmaking, where it's pretty standard to do some ten to twenty takes per scene. enjoy! (and sorry if the loudness causes any jumpscares...) now available from @murphymusicpress !
And the SFBO Inaugural Legacy Composition Contest winner is…BOBBY GE @bobbycge for his brilliant Violin Concerto! 🥇👏
Congratulations to all three Contest finalists and to our fantastic soloists Cordula Merks and Heeguen Song who rocked the hall @sfconservmusic last night! 🎻👏
We really enjoyed performing for the enthusiastic audience and we hope to see you at Herbst Theatre on March 8!

He is currently pursuing his PhD @princeton Come hear his World Premiere, along with Mahler 1, “Titan” at Alice Tully Hall @lincolncenter on Sunday afternoon, June 14. sharing a beautiful, e c h o e y recording of a new solo violin piece commissioned and performed by @claradelunakim ❤️ titled 'threads strung bare,' this piece is a nostalgic, wispy reflection on my worn-out clothes i've held on to since childhood. it's a quite challenging piece, and clara brought a lot of technical virtuosity and interpretive generosity to it! much appreciation ~
