So fun reconnecting with old friends and making new ones today working with the @unhmusic Wind Symphony. So many fond memories made in this building. If you are available on Thursday, October 10th at 8pm, I hope you will attend the premiere of my first symphony and come hear these fabulous musicians!
Hey friends! I am excited to start sharing some music that I have been writing over the last few years. Though I have been writing a good amount behind the scenes, Iām hoping to start sharing and promoting some of this music a little more than I have in the past. First off, if you are in the New England area, I would love to invite you to the premiere of my first symphony, āThe Lost Letters,ā on Thursday, October 10th at 8pm at the University of New Hampshire. Iāll be sharing clips and more info about this composition as the premiere date approaches, but for now here are a few pages of the score and a little information about the meaning behind the composition. If youāre home at 7:00pm tonight, turn on ESPN2 to watch our menās basketball team fight for the NEC conference championship. Win and we go to March Madness for the first time in program history!
On my way to the 2024 @thenammshow and Iām looking forward to presenting on a fabulous panel with Robbie Gillam, Jennifer Amaya, and John Freyermuth on 21st century audio curriculum! Iāll also be giving a solo talk on the work we have been doing to build the music technology program at @merrimackcollege through DIY music strategies. If youāre at #NAMMshow I hope to see you there!
On my way home from an amazing few days at the @thenammshow Iām so thankful for the opportunity @collegemusicsociety to be a faculty fellow this year, and it was a blast meeting so many likeminded colleagues dedicated to increasing opportunities for college music students.
If you happen to have cable and be home at 5pm EST, turn on CBS Sports for our first Merrimack Menās Basketball game on national TV! And of course, check out the band!!
Iām really excited that I have been awarded the 2023 NAMM Foundation/CMS GenNext Faculty Fellowship! I canāt wait to attend my first @thenammshow and represent @merrimackcollege and @merrimack_vpa with the work we are doing in our music program!
I canāt believe itās been almost two weeks, but it still feels yesterday. I had the amazing opportunity to work with @_daveelkins_ and @jonnyblane in Nashville on a 4 track E.P. of music I had been sitting on for almost a decade. A lot of my close friends know how much @whatismae has meant to me musically, and to have Dave produce this E.P. is a dream come true. Speaking of which, the project is called āThe Dream of A Life,ā and I canāt wait to share it soon.
I am so pleased to announce that my latest album, Cinematic Canons Vol. 1 is now available for streaming and download on most online platforms. Each track is set to a photo taken by my father in-law, Steve Bachman. These photos can be viewed on Spotify, as well as I will be doing a release of photos over the next few weeks on my social media sites. Thanks so much, and I hope you enjoy listening/viewing this project!
I am really excited that my new album, Cinematic Canons Vol. 1 is set to be released on February 18th. Each track of the album is a musical reflection on 10 photographs taken by my father in-law, Steve Bachman. Here is a sneak peak, and I will be posting a few others leading up to the release on 2/18!
