As I embark on my last planned adventure of the year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my second year at
@burningman
Burning Man is a beautifully challenging place to exist.. it takes a lot of time, preparation, and endurance to be able to not only survive, but thrive in this unforgiving environment.
Having friends, and partners in this journey makes this not only easier when you work together, but also gives you people to revel at the magic you experience out there. I’m lucky to have a wonderful partner
@sara.rose222 who has been my rock and support through this journey, as well as my friends at
@exothermiafire , #rednosedistrict ,
@kingofdonz , and many others.
Aside from the picturesque landscape and exceptional artistic creations, the fact that people of all walks of life come together every year and build this place from the ground-up, and then break it down again is a marvel in itself. I think this easy to lose sight of, but something I consider so important to in the grand scheme of it all.
Burning Man gets a lot of hate, largely because it’s somewhat of mysterious phenomenon that is hard to explain to someone who’s never experienced it. Sure, some of it is true (like any large gathering); but the positives, community and principles highly outweigh its shortcomings. My experience has been nothing short of inspiring, cathartic and transformative for me as a human.
At the man burn, we celebrate and release the energy of another year gone by. At the temple burn, we aim to release the grief of the many we’ve lost on this journey.
I am grateful to experience and participate in what this place has to offer, and I look forward to many more burns at #blackrockcity
