From Michigan to Ukraine, Sweden to South Africa, Burning Man communities around the world are acquiring land as a means of extending the Burning Man ethos into the world. In the latest Burning Man Journal article, “Fertile Ground: Burner Land Projects Flourish," read how each community has its own purpose and path towards establishing a permanent space for participatory creativity. 📸 1: Moomin Tower at Alversjö (Photo courtesy of The Borderland) 📸 2-3: Photos courtesy of burnvillagept Article by @roxanejessiauthor

From the Temples of the past to the vision of our future. 🌙 The Temple has always been the sacred heart of Black Rock City, and Burnersphere is inviting you to experience its entire lineage. On May 9th, 10AM PT @burnersphere introduces an all new Temple Guardian World featuring a Temple Museum with collections from the past — from 2000 to 2025. Join us for a special conversation with the stewards who have managed, built, and guarded these spaces for decades: Peter Platzgummer (Art Management, BMP), Jenna Seiden “Maven” (Temple Guardian Council), and longtime builders Lee Klinger “Tree” and Adam Doti. Come remember, reflect, and walk through 25 years of sacred history. Then stick around for the 2026 Temple of the Moon immersive reveal at 12:30 PM PT. Join lead artist James Gwertzman and Temple Architect Annie Locke Scherer for the live Burnersphere reveal of the 2026 Temple of the Moon. Inspired by the rare "Queen of the Night" flower and the rhythms of the lunar cycle, James and Annie Locke will share the story behind this year’s sanctuary of remembrance and renewal. Be among the first to step inside the architecture of the 2026 playa.

"Rose Wonders" by @thomasdambo charmed Black Rock citizens and had the time of her life visiting with Burners who climbed into her waiting hands to say hello. Now this beautiful creature roams the woods, and decided to call it home. It was good running into you Rose ❤️‍🔥 📍 Filoli Estate | @filoliestate 🎬: Video by Martin Rodriguez
