Forty years ago, on the summer solstice, an effigy was set aflame on Baker Beach. A simple act became a ritual. The ritual became a culture, where we explored how we gather, revel, and grieve. Congratulations to Host Art Workshops for Refugee Children and The Mobile Dignity Shower Project, winners of the 2026 European Leadership Summit (ELS) Civic Ignition Grant. Host Art Workshops for Refugee Children creates space for refugee youth in Athens, Greece to express themselves through art while also earning income from their work, turning creativity into both healing and empowerment. The Mobile Dignity Shower Project brings rapid-response, mobile shower systems to displaced communities in Dunkirk, France, restoring dignity and access to basic hygiene through a design that can be quickly deployed and relocated as needed. Celebrate Earth Day with a River Cleanup Dance Party 🌿 🪩 💧 Join the party at Believe Plaza on April 18. Arrive by 2pm, as we’ll leave the plaza together and head up along the Truckee River. We’ll be picking up trash, connecting with our community, and dancing along the way! 2-5pm. Cleanup supplies and PPE provided- just bring yourself, your friends, and good vibes! 💚 🥪

(IFR) ❤️ Together, we collected 200+ items — including art supplies, food, hygiene kits, backpacks, and electronics — to support IFR’s health and wellness programs serving San Francisco’s communities. IFR has been doing incredible work for over 40 years, providing culturally rooted mental health and community support, including initiatives like Salud y Bienestar Indígena, which fosters healing through culture, language, and connection. We’re excited to share the work of our friends @replanttheforest is answering that question, and that the impact is fractal. They’ve just released their mini-doc about the project- check it out!
