Together with patrons, staff, friends and family, @anhandchi and @goodthief.ca have now surpassed $500,000 raised through their Reservation by Donation initiative‼️ Guests donate $10 when booking a reservation, with funds directed to public-nominated charities each quarter—supporting organizations focused on food security, homelessness, mental health, resettlement and more. Over 40 local charities have been supported so far, including @backpackbuddiesbc @aunt_leahs @lookoutsociety and Tree House. It’s helmed by a brother and sister team, Vincent and Amélie, who were born to Vietnamese refugees in Vancouver. You’ll find Saigon born Chef Lý Nguyên, running the kitchen and bringing her tried and tested family recipes to diners. Food wise you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but a fun way to go about it is with the family style section where you’ll get lesser seen dishes like grass-fed Shaken Beef seared with onions, butter, and soy sauce or a king prawn tamarind soup. Be sure to order cocktails. They are fun and tropical leaning with ingredients like mango, passionfruit, and lime leaf. Their reservation program is unique. When you book one you donate $10 to a local charity. It’s one thing to celebrate our personal achievements, then it’s another feeling when you look up — and it’s your friend, teammate, and family earning something so special. Thank you @destination_vancouver and @michelinguide for coming to Vancouver, Canada for the 4th year. It’s been our honour, prestige and privilege to live, cook and shake things up in this city. Thursday night was magic, far beyond our imagination. @v.fritz.e of @goodthief.ca was awarded the one and only Michelin’s Exceptional Cocktail Award and @budojoe of @goodthief.ca earned the one and only new Michelin Bib Gourmand designation in Vancouver in 2025. We set out to challenge the status quo with our rebellious sibling next door, dreaming of a space that can shine in both food and cocktails, and the team did it!!! Thank you!!! Mango! Mango! 🥭 suntory toki, mango, black peppercorn, co2 ☀️ this lil fella is our Toki highball. Japanese whisky loaded up with heaps of mango and carbonated in house. A nice & crispy sip. You can often find our bartender Alex crushing this on the patio and washing it down with a tofu fresh roll. He’s vegan now and that’s ok.👌

Combining Japanese styling with German engineering, he travels globally to hand-build each unique car, featuring signature broad fenders, deep-dish wheels, and a, “rough” yet functional aesthetic. Chef Ly Nguyen, also known as Mom, came to Canada in 1980 with nothing but a loving husband, new born baby and memories of cooking with her mom. Thankfully with the support from Canadian ‘Anh’ and ‘Chi’ (brothers and sisters) including settlement workers, small business owners, and fellow refugees, who helped navigate her young family with food, clothing, shelter and employment, eventually, they started a family business serving authentic Vietnamese food. Who knew she would be the one of the very first Vietnamese Canadian woman to earn a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and grew her family to over 100 young and inspiring leaders in the hospitality industry. “She’s taught us about family, resilience, and the power of discipline and hard work — through being the first one at the restaurant, and the last one to eat (and sleep) after her kids and grandkids. This Mother’s Day, we wish all of the mother-figures a day of reflection, celebrating all of your sacrifices and achievements as Mom, and much magical moments with your loved ones. May we all keep dreaming and making this life as positive and delicious for everyone! ANH AND CHI x CHEF KEITH PEARS Culinary Athlete for Team Canada 2026-2027. Ask us ten years ago and we’d never had imagined how much impact a refugee family and an independent, family-owned business can have on community. The first ten we built our core, Anh and Chi’s pulse and team culture. Every teammate that has come through the door, leaves a significant imprint on us and our guests, thank YOU. Today, we were awarded BEST MOUNT PLEASANT RESTAURANT in Vancouver, BC, and it’s not only because of the hum that fills the room by guests and staff, but also the fresh, delicious and comforting food and cocktails we share. And we cannot do this without our team and contributing to the pool of industry gems. So for our 10th Anniversary celebration, we collaborated with Chef @keith_pears of @pearsrestaurant and his mom @cheflynda of @argocafe to host a fundraising gala dinner, and together with donations from food and wine sponsors, chefs, small businesses around the city, and generous friends and loyal guests — we raised and donated $50,127 for to @bocusedor TEAM CANADA to compete in the Culinary World Championships in Lyon, France 2027.
