Hi. I’m Meo, owner and independent stylist at Level Headed Salon & Wellness @levelheadedsalon . There is a chair rental opportunity for stylists looking for a space that was designed with you and your ergonomics in mind. It was important to me to focus on a space that not only embodied ergonomics to help us flow while we craft but also a space that had a calm yet energizing feel. . I hired a fengshui master who collaborated with my interior designer @natalierafterydesign to create a modern Marrakech oasis where you can come and feel relaxed because when you’re relaxed your clients will feel the same. Energy is a thing and I can’t wait to have you join us so we can create magic together. Who you surround yourself with matters. Happy Friday and may this beautiful day bring you many blessings. . MEET THE FOUNDER MEO Hi, I’m Meo! I’m on a mission to provide you with customized hair that perfectly suits you and your lifestyle. To say it’s always been a dream to open my own salon would be a lie; however, my desire to influence the younger generation of stylists-specifically the at-risk youth community has inspired me to start my own salon. This way, I have full autonomy to carry out my vision as I embark on the next chapter of my stylist journey. From the building to the finer details, my salon has been fengshui mastered and meticulously designed to create a sense of comfort and serenity, ensuring that everyone who enters feels right at home. You belong here . OUR STANCE Level Headed is not just a place to get your hair styled; it’s a sanctuary for rejuvenation and self-care. We believe that true beauty radiates from within, and our mission is to enhance your natural beauty while promoting overall well-being. The space is designed with stylists’ ergonomics and clients’ comfort in mind. Creation is endless when we are relaxed. . THE EXPERIENCE Every service begins with relaxation. Aside from color services, all clients enjoy a pre-service scalp massage in our fully reclined backwash basins, which are comfortable for both the stylist and the client. The massage oil used is a uniquely fragrant blend of essential oils from Luna Rituals Botanicals, a local vendor. It promotes relaxation, scalp stimulation, and blood flow. Following the scalp massage, your head will be showered and pampered with Davines’ hair care line. Voila! Let your service begin. . LEVEL HEADED PROFESSIONALS At Level Headed Salon & Wellness, we strive to foster an environment that prioritizes both beauty and well-being. We are excited to embark on this journey with you, helping you discover the best version of yourself while nurturing our community along the way. Thank you for being a part of our story. We can’t wait to meet you and help you achieve your hair goals. DM us! ~ FIN ~

Triple C for Pam! And it’s true I can get down with curls too. If you’re a curly hair’d girly just know this, you should always be getting 2 cuts within the cut. One cut on dry to establish length and shape and then refining on wet. At least this is how I address curly hair and it’s never done be dirty. #yvr #lovemyjob

Going blonde from a dark base isn’t just a vibe, it’s a time and monetary commitment. It’s hours in the chair, multiple sessions, patience through the in-between stages, and trusting the process when it’s not instantly “perfect.” It’s investing in professional products, toners, treatments and consistent maintenance to keep your hair healthy, strong and actually blonde not brassy. Consistent maintenance includes at home care with professional hair care products and not allowing roots to go beyond 2”. Anything beyond will take longer resulting in a more expensive service in the end. So if you think waiting in between will save you money, it doesn’t. So if you are going to go blonde save your money for it. Good hair ain’t cheap and cheap hair ain’t good. This isn’t a one-time appointment. It’s time, money and intention. The girls who get it, get it. đŸ€ Stay tuned for what @hair_by_edgar and I created. I learned so much today it was humbling af and the artistry Edgar demonstrated was jaw dropping. “Tap, Tap, Tap, patience, patience, patience.” #sifu #mentor #mentee #continuededucation

@anhandchi 10th Anniversary & Bocuse d’Or Team Canada fundraiser was an incredible success, raising over $50,000 in support of Canada’s culinary future. From canapĂ©s to gala, the energy was unforgettable, and what started as two private dinners turned into four, doubling the impact. How incredible! Level Headed was amongst other proud sponsors of the raffle, helping contribute to the final fundraising total. Chef Keith and team, we’re honoured to celebrate with you. Now go bring home the GOLD! And then we already won gold with with @thuymeetsworld 😘 #giveback #communitymatters #goforthegold #bocusedor #culinary

Learning is always so humbling for me. Makes may feel kinda dumb too but not tryin will make may even dumber (insert southern accent here*). I can only speak on the creative hair industry because obviously I’m in it and whilst I’m blessed to have my clients who pay me what I’m worth, there are those out there who can’t justify my prices and it’s aaaaall G! If you’re one who doesn’t understand why stylists charge what they charge here’s an insight for ya! I pay for classes, practice what I’ve learned, bring in models aaaall on me spare time. Oh and don’t forget the forever product increasing product costs. Collectively I spent about 8-10 hours if I include travel time to pick up specific product. And maybe more if we factor in the wait time for the arrival of the Korean perm rods. Professionals like lawyers charge you by the hour plus discretionary expenses like photocopying/printing etc. Although the perm did not turn out the way we anticipated, which was quite disheartening ngl, I learned so much and I will be taking in models again once I get over my bruised ego, haha! So stay tuned for the model search posting, for now may you continue to learn and grow n’ just have fun while yer at er! #staypositive #yvrstylist #levelheaded #havefun

If your scalp feels sore when brushing that is not something to ignore. Tension in the scalp can restrict circulation and affect how your hair grows over time. Small daily rituals like scalp massage helps restore movement and balance. And we are working on something to take this even deeper. Stay tuned

Split ends are one of the most misunderstood hair concerns. There is a difference between repairing and maintaining Once the hair has split it cannot be reversed but you can absolutely slow it down and prevent it from getting worse. The goal is not perfection. It is consistency! Healthy hair is built through small habits repeated over time. If your hair feels like it’s not growing, it’s most likely breaking. So for my wanting to grow my hair long folks, the more frequent trims you get them better because you are chopping the split before it has time to migrate and break off. And that is where the right approach changes everything.

We are finally rolling out our hair wellness offerings at Level Headed đŸ€ Stay tuned for holistic tips rooted in scalp and hair health from within. Follow along while I share some of my clients’ hair journey to healthy hair. It was a 3 year endeavour but great things don’t come overnight and extensions isn’t always the best solution for thinning hair. @carmen.b.turner can attest to this. You’ll also start to see some of our favourite tea blends in the space crafted to support digestion, circulation and nervous system balance available for purchase soon. This is just the beginning

I see so many clients panic about hair in the shower or brush, so I ran a mini experiment on myself. 3 days without washing → 78 hairs shed (not counting strands that have already washed down the drain) 2 days later → 19 hairs Next day → 17 hairs Completely within a healthy shedding range. Hair shedding isn’t just about the number you see in one moment. If you’re not washing daily, those hairs accumulate and release on wash day. What matters more is patterns over time, scalp health and whether shedding suddenly increases. If you’re noticing excessive shedding, thinning, or scalp changes, it’s worth investigating the root cause. When I went through my severe hair shedding during covid it took me three years to finally grow back what I lost. One thing my family doctor recommended was to take 10,000 IU’s of vitamin D which helps stabilize the follicle for two weeks. This helped prevent more hair fall while we ran tests on my hormones and thyroids. I am not prescribing this for you, just sharing helpful information that helped me. And during those three years of re-growth, I cleaned up my diet, took collagen and biotin supplements which all contributed to my scalp health. If you’re seeing abnormal and I mean clumps like I was seeing on a DAILY. I vacuumed my bed daily and the home daily so I can track and there was hair EVERYWHERE. It wasn’t just coming out in the shower so if you are truly concerned about your hair shed, this is your prompt to see the doc! Your hair is always giving you information, you just need to know what to look for. Healthy hair begins with internal wellness. ~Meo Scalp wellness focused hairstylist
