Congee was never meant to be enjoyed alone.
We thought we were prepared, but Vancouver said otherwise! The lineup wrapped around the booth three times. 3 hours and 500 bowls of Chef Dez’s OG Fish Jook & Shroom Jook were SOLD OUT!
Nobody expected hot congee on the hottest day but again the city pulled up and ate jook together! Banters around communal tables, chili oils passed around and everyone sipping jook. Now that’s the real recipe to a community!
A big thank you to our collaborators Dez and Jenice, our friends Jess, Ambrose, Hedda, and Dez’s awesome team Chris & Dennis who formed small army behind the booth running on steam, sweat and adrenaline all day long.
And YOU- thank YOU for showing up to this pop-up, which we are seriously considering to make it an annual thing cos your support has proven to us simple staple foods like congee can gather people to create memories together.

Fish congee built on a BC halibut stock, topped with fresh West Coast seafood.
🍄🟫SHROOM JOOK (Vegan):
Deep, savoury mushroom congee with XO mushroom sauce and pickled hon shimeji.
And yeah… our chili oils goes on everything. Bring your bowls to our Add Oil Station!
