Cat’s out of the bag! AAmp is excited to announce that we’re providing the architecture and design for a new 90+ room boutique hotel in downtown Portland, ME. Carefully restoring and repurposing Maine’s first high-rise – known as the Fidelity Trust Building built in 1910 – the former bank will be home to a hotel with a large double-height lobby restaurant and bar, lower level bar, fitness facility and other amenities. We’re looking forward to its continued development with a fantastic client and consultant team! 🙌 … #linkinbio #portlandhotel #aampstudio
Extremely excited to share a first glimpse of our design for @municipal_grand , a new 44-room boutique hotel in Savannah, Georgia! The project is currently under construction and slated for an early 2025 opening. The existing mid-century building — originally a bank headquarters — is being carefully preserved and restored to accommodate its historic status, while new elements are thoughtfully integrated to meet the needs of the hotel. It will feature a large double-height lobby bar and restaurant, rooftop pool and subterranean bar. Excited to show you more soon! In the meantime please check out Hospitality Design’s feature at the link in bio 💃 … #municipalgrand #aampstudio #midnightauteur

Lately, we’ve been thinking about our Bessborough project in Toronto. This detail—layered arches, soft curves, and carefully framed views — is one we’re particularly fond of. It captures the quiet moments of the home, where form, light, and material come together in subtle ways.

We're excited to share a glimpse into our recently completed Jones Commons project that was featured in the latest @azuremagazine (Link in Bio).
This mixed-use project reimagines a 1950s two-storey office building -- originally designed as doctors’ offices -- through adaptive reuse and the addition of a new two-storey extension, stair tower, and garage. Looking forward to sharing more soon!

Architects In Swipe Looking At Books + Objects” is a loving tribute to Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.” We at swipe design feel that, despite our erudite print offerings and high-styled household objects, there is always room for humour. And despite what some might think, architects (and designers) are actually a pretty fun crowd! Our host, Dave LeBlanc, likes to say that “architecture ain’t just for eggheads anymore” and we agree. In the coming months, we’ll be inviting the city’s top designers to visit us and share their stories as they ooh and ahh over the lovely things at our store.

Slow down. That’s where the magic lives.
In a world obsessed with speed, it’s easy to fall into the trap of chasing volume—frames over feeling, quantity over quality. The “spray and pray” approach might fill a gallery, but it rarely fills a moment.
The truth is, not all images are created equal.
The ones that matter—the ones that make you pause—are intentional. They’re crafted with care, built on patience, and rooted in understanding. They capture more than just what’s in front of the lens—they reveal the design, the story, the quiet strength and beauty that often goes unnoticed.
Great imagery isn’t rushed. It’s realized.
Take your time. See deeper. Create less—but mean more.
This wonderful @aampstudio project is featured in the current issue of @azuremagazine .

Congratulations to our ARC201 undergraduate 2nd year studio section at @uoftdaniels who had their final review yesterday — here are a few photos from the day. From start to finish, this wonderful group of students showed up with curiosity, generosity, and great energy - and it’s reflected in the work!
Many thanks to TA, @elifdlrr for her insight and support throughout the semester, and to our guest critics, @billykchung , @christopher.cornecelli and @lizpagliacolo , along with @sealy.peter , for their thoughtful feedback.
