Sometimes it’s good to get out of the office.
We joined our friends Felder & Associates for a little friendly competition at the park to answer the important question of the day: who can throw the rubber chicken the farthest?
Tharpe Engineering is honored to support the ongoing preservation of the Kiah House Museum; an iconic piece of Savannah history. Built in 1910 and later transformed into a museum and educational facility by visionary artist Virginia Kiah, this landmark was previously at risk of being lost.
Through strong community partnership and investment, including efforts by the @cityofsavannah , @myhsf and preservation advocates, plans are underway to restore the Kiah House to its former glory while creating space for creative and cultural programming that celebrates its legacy and we are excited to be a part of the team!

A resilient comeback for a Savannah landmark.
We’re excited to see the final photos of Streamliner following the 2025 fire now beautifully renovated and opening soon. As part of the renovation and reconstruction efforts, all original wood elements at the "smoke shack" were severely damaged by the fire. We worked with SCAD's design team to replicate the previous design, including the design and detailing of the timber structure and new foundation elements to support it. It’s always meaningful to be part of projects that restore and strengthen spaces so important to our community. We can't wait to get our Strangebird on soon!
