Thomas & Hutton (T&H) recently joined industry partners, economic development professionals, and community leaders at the GEDA Cocktails and Dinner on April 30 at the Perry Lane Ballroom in Savannah. T&H was proud to co-host the evening alongside Terracon, RLC, Carroll Daniel, Evans General Contractors, and Dublin Construction Company. Congratulations to Madeline Winkler with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, winner of the raffle basket drawing!

Congratulations to David Garrett on his retirement after more than 36 years in the construction and infrastructure industry, including six years with Thomas & Hutton (T&H). Throughout his career, David provided construction inspection and field representation services for major water, wastewater, roadway, and utility infrastructure projects across Tennessee. At T&H, he contributed to significant projects including the Smyrna Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion and multiple phases of the Rutherford Creek Sewer Trunk Line improvements in Spring Hill. Known for his professionalism, reliability, and technical knowledge, David earned the trust of colleagues, contractors, and clients alike. Congratulations to Ryo Yamamoto, PE, on earning his Professional Engineer license in North Carolina. Ryo is a Designer in our Charlotte office with more than seven years of experience in engineering design, permitting, and construction administration for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Since joining Thomas & Hutton (T&H) in 2021, Ryo’s work focuses primarily on industrial developments across North and South Carolina, supporting site design, grading, stormwater systems, utilities, and permitting coordination. Our Buford team recently volunteered with Home of Hope as part of a T&H Helping Hands project. The team spent the day supporting a variety of needs across the campus, including cleaning and organizing playrooms, pressure washing, moving items, spreading mulch, and completing other improvement projects. Their efforts helped create cleaner, more welcoming spaces for the families and children Home of Hope serves every day. Thank you to our Buford team for lending a hand and helping create a more welcoming environment for families and children in our community.

Our Charlotte team recently joined the NorthPoint Foundation 2026 Kick It Classic kickball tournament, coming together for a fun day of friendly competition in support of a meaningful cause. The event benefited the NorthPoint Foundation and Bags of Hope, an organization that provides resources and support for children in need. Hosted by Conn3ctData LLC, #ATLDC26 brings together today’s innovators and data center industry leaders for conversations on the evolving needs, challenges, and opportunities shaping the market. Hector will join the panel “Design Evolution: Power, Water, and Where Do We Go Next” on May 21 at 11:15 AM, sharing insights on how design teams are adapting to meet the demands of data center development. Scott will join “Driving Speed: How Land, Material, and Components Are Driving Schedule” on May 21 at 1:15 PM, discussing how speed, coordination, and creative problem solving are shaping project delivery in today’s market. A few of our Myrtle Beach team members recently volunteered with the Grand Strand Miracle League, supporting athletes with disabilities on the baseball field. Serving as "buddies", volunteers helped players enjoy the game, build confidence, and create meaningful connections. The event creates an inclusive environment where athletes of all abilities can thrive while also supporting their families and the greater community. Great work by our Myrtle Beach team for making a positive impact, one game at a time!

Thomas & Hutton (T&H) recently participated in the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Clay Classic in Richburg, South Carolina, where T&H sponsored one of the event stands. Representing the “T&H Hit Squad,” Lisa Muzekari, Allison Busch, Katie Johnson, and Katie McCoy joined fellow industry professionals for a day of networking, friendly competition, and support for NAWIC’s inaugural event. A special congratulations to the team, with three members tying for second-highest woman shooter, each scoring 26, just one point behind the top score.
