Lighting for this Colorado mountain home was designed to highlight what makes it truly distinctive: its modern interpretation of a Western aesthetic, the rich textures of stone and wood, and the expansive mountain views that define the setting🏔️
Layered lighting was carefully integrated to shape the architecture and bring warmth to natural materials, creating a seamless experience indoors and out. The back patio was transformed into an inviting outdoor living room, extending the life of the home and the landscape well beyond sunset.
The lighting design amplifies and highlights every moment of life in this Telluride residence, making the architecture, materials, and views feel even more extraordinary. ✨

As we closed out 2025, our team came together to give back to the community in meaningful ways!
During the holidays, AE Design volunteered with Newborns in Need, packing bags for newborns at Denver Health, supported the Recuperative Care Center at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless with our partners at @olcarchitecture , and packed food with Food for Thought to help address food insecurity.
Giving back and supporting our community is an integral part of AE Design’s culture, and we’re proud of the time and care our team dedicated this season. We’re grateful to start the new year carrying this spirit of service forward!

The iconic Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder is entering a new chapter 🎬🌿
Ahead of the 2027 Sundance Film Festival, this 127-year-old open-air venue is undergoing major winterization and renovation, preserving its historic character while upgrading it for year-round use. From its signature wood trusses to open rafters, the Auditorium’s unique architecture and cultural significance are being honored even as it is equipped for modern events and enhanced experiences.
This project exemplifies how thoughtful design and renovation can bridge history and the future, ensuring a beloved community landmark continues to inspire for generations to come.
