Maria Gysi is a Swiss 3D artist and Art Director based in Berlin, working independently for over a decade.

Been going to @gurtenfestival since I was a kid—first time was with my dad, watching The Prodigy in 2004. Fast forward to 2019, and I got to see the tour visuals I made together with @babenko_de for Casper & Marteria on the big stage. Plus seeing the friends I grew up taking over the stages step by step. So when @francamoor from @voile.studio and @phil.universe from @salzmann_gertsch hit me up to do my take on their new logo reveal, it felt like a full circle moment. People had very strong opinions we even made it to the news—some thought it was sick, others absolutely lost their minds over it. Either way, the reactions were hilarious. Sharing more memories of BEELZEBUB—the most personal work I’ve ever created. On October 31, 2024, I left a piece of my soul in that space. Thank you all so much for coming and for your support—it means the world to me. I’m deeply grateful to the incredible team that helped bring BEELZEBUB to life. I wish we could relive the magic together soon. There’s nothing like friends creating side by side. A special thanks to my dear friends at @setworx.berlin for crafting the stunning set that not only recreated but expanded the atmosphere of the original film. It beautifully mirrored the inner world of the main character. The idea of bringing the CGI prospectors, created with my brilliant friend @youngysi , into the physical realm—to explore the tension between the digital and physical worlds—was brought to life by the best @flexxucci and @ody_berlin . They also created the light installations that guided the visitors through the night. And finally, thank you @florianchristophr for tying it all together and believing in me and my demonic baby, BEELZEBUB. Thank you to everyone who came out to see BEELZEBUB last Thursday! I have been slowly landing back into reality, it is hard to describe how intense and beautiful this ride has been, I just know it definitely won’t be the last one. I would like to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude to the group of fantastic humans that made BEELZEBUB possible together with me. The image is a photo of one of the many beautiful CGI works that were made by my talented and dear friend @youngysi whom I met through this project. Our shared love for drones and mutual understanding of grief has connected us deeply. Thank you for having me in your life and doing this with me. Thank you to my dear sister @louisavandervelde for being with me on the show and capturing everything with your great eye. Thank you @torgehill for believing in me from that very first moment in the desert, without your support BEELZEBUB might have not been born. Thank you to the beautiful star of the show, dear @mariona.ona for trusting me on that adventure to the desert and for coming to berlin to perform in a freezing pond two years later. You were able to express my feelings with your movements and this leaves me speechless. Thank you @flobasche for flying BEELZEBUB so smoothly through the space. It was so great to have you with us. Thank you dear @nastyavogan for creating the most mesmerising live set, your sound translates pure BEELZEBUB to me and I feel honoured to have you as part of the performance. Thank you @flexxucci and @ody_berlin for bringing the holograms to life alongside all the other beautiful light installations, you guys created another atmosphere to the whole show.
