This time from 2-4p.m. Radio GNUL is a radio station focused on quality house music for friends and family. For the next edition of my radio show, l’ve invited 2 music lovers over to play: For the first hour we will be listening to dear @hett____ . As a DJ, it’s always a joy to spot true music enthusiasts on the dancefloor — and @hett____ is exactly that kind of person: always in a great mood, fully immersed in the music, and usually ready with a quick, clever remark. :) Originally from England and now based in Berlin, the musician and producer has his roots in hardcore. For the past few years, he’s been appearing around Berlin with his live house set, shaped by strong UK influences. Besides performing, he also produces, having released multiple records in 2024 on labels such as Nervous Records and Akwardlysocialberlin. I’m excited to see what he brings to the radio show. For the second hour, I’ve invited Janno — another true music lover with a vinyl collection lovingly built over decades and spanning a wide range of genres. Originally from Lüneburg and now based in Berlin, art has always been a constant in his life: from street art, to initiating illegal warehouse raves, to creating high-quality masks from scrap materials. He continues to keep things interesting and prefers to remain in the shadows out of the spotlight. During the cold day of November 2nd 2024, Berlin-based collective @awkwardlysocialberlin warmed Giri up with their coziness for the release party of their 6th production. This release is Candor by British electronic music artist @hett____ , who for the occasion performed a live show that we recorded directly onto tape. This live performance is a trippy love letter fused with glitchy breakbeats and mesmerizing soundscapes, with many sonic details that will please the earthirsty. @awkwardlysocialberlin is a community-spirited dance music collective from Berlin. Over the past years, they have run events all over the city and hosted a wide range of radio shows as well as their monthly mix platform, the Awkwardly Cast.
