I haven't recorded a mix in ages, so I used this opportunity to get deep into the woozy psychedelic aesthetic of my new label @tihkal.label , as well as serving as a snapshot of where I'm at as a DJ. Really enjoying creating slowly unfurling narratives, long blends, and of course the odd curveball. I also had a chat with Chanel about my influences, and the story behind the label. Wordcolour is a UK-based Producer, and DJ. Their music ranges from peak-time trippy club tunes to more ambient and experimental explorations, with a focus on sonic detail and striking sound design. Throughout 2023/24 they released their “Ratios” series on Houndstooth: 3 EPs of adventurous, boundary-pushing club music. In 2025 they continued the series with Ratios IV, as well as launching their own label TiHKAL, a new home for deep rolling psychedelic sounds. As a club DJ, their sets are full of twists and turns. At times deep, at times raucous, they weave eclectic, adventurous sets which slowly unfurl, always staying focussed on the journey. A Niche resident for a while now, Wordcolour has played some unforgettable sets at 80 Eastway, and we are so gassed to see them with @george next Friday at our new fave spot.  Exactly one month from today we are excited to welcome one of our favourite DJs - Marylou. A French DJ and sound artist based in Berlin, she first caught our ears with an incredible set at Free Movements in London a couple of years ago. Known for her genre-defying and cinematic approach, she moves seamlessly between dub, noise, traditional music, improv jazz, footwork and breakcore, crafting deeply immersive sonic journeys. A former affiliate of Morphine Records, YOUTH and Ominira, she’s also part of the Wheel of Fortune collective (with rRoxymore, CCL, Nono Gigsta). She was selected as part of the SHAPE+ platform’s 2024–2025 artist roster, and has performed at key festivals and venues including Atonal, Terraforma, CTM, Freerotation, pe:rsona, Café Oto, and Berghain. Influenced by her background in visual arts and cinema, Marylou’s style is both psychedelic and precise, informed by her years hosting shows on Rinse FM, NTS and Refuge Worldwide. Kickstarting the big bank holiday May weekend is Space Club our studio party where we get to transform the studio into a festival like tent space and appreciate our hi-fidelity sound system at optimum volume with DJ sets and warm chai occupying our palettes and ears all night. 

This alcohol-free, no-shoes space invites you to experience club sounds in a softer, more conscious way where you can dance, chill or a mixture of both. We place all the mats out on the floor so you can really explore these sets in a playful way together. Our acoustic panels, quadraphonic clarity, cosy festival tent energy make for a nourishing night for the soul.

Every month we change the design of Space Club. Our hanging parachutes offer multiple ways in which we can influence how you interact with the space, areas for play, areas for dance, areas for chilling. The sets are expansive, meditative and psychedelic and unlike other nights we encourage artists to express their full catalogue of tunes, experiment and try new things. As always, it’s another moment to connect with each other, be with the frequencies and friends we love and celebrate the month coming to a close.
