'Archetypes Earring Collection'
First full collection of silver stud earrings! Carefully crafted by myself in 925 silver, every earring is hand made and individual.
This collection is built around archetypal symbols, each chosen to evoke an ancient feeling. The beauty of such universal symbols, like the bird or the hand, is that they hold within them meaning built by humans over millennia. For some, the fish may represent freedom unbounded by the restraints of land. For others, the devil's head may represent the trickster spirit sent to sow chaos. Whatever the feeling may be, the wearer carries it with them as they wear their chosen symbol, bringing some aspect of the archetype into their day to day life.

Three Fates
Brass, size M, 12.1g, 2026
The Moirai, or fates, are three sisters from Greek mythology who assign people their destiny. They spin the thread of life, measure it and cut it to determine the path of any given person. In this ring the thread is represented by the band that connects these three beings together. The band in unbroken, giving the wearer the chance to determine their own fate.
I made a version of this in silver a few years back and lost it somewhere. I've found lots of strange forgotten things over the years so I like the idea that someone may have picked this up somewhere along the way. Hopefully it has found its fate!

I see the ring band as a thought emanating from the top of the head (the subconscious) and then looping back round to give the head thought (consciousness). Like an idea being formulated into words. As the thought projects out of the head it grows and widens, like the band itself, and then contracts and is condensed into form. So the process repeats infinitely.

Saw piercing has gotta be my favourite part of metal smithing. Feels like drawing with a blade. Such an immediate transformation of raw material into new shape. First stage of a long, meditative process of buffing and polishing to turn this from a rough object into a wearable piece. Didn't know how to edit out me breaking a million saw blades, love brass but it's a hard bastard to work with.
