โDuring COVID I released a series of ambient works in progress, one of which inspired a close friend, an artisanal perfumer to create a fragrance based on the music, and experiencing it inspired me to compose again letting scent shape the atmosphere and emotional direction of the piece titled โMineralโ, with the extended duration allowing those feelings to unfold naturally over timeโ โ Wata Igarashi.
Delivered with poise and elegance like an old Japanese proverb, the final instalment ahead of the full Mastery Quantum Sound VA comes from label friend @wataigarashi with โMineralโ. Enjoy the edit out now, with the extended 15min masterpiece available with the full album.
Quantum Sound lands on Feb 12 with a special listening experience to be held at our @fabriclondonofficial venue on Feb 10.

โI have been doing breathwork for years and have always found it so transformative, but always felt like the music that is layered behind it felt like an afterthought. I wanted to fuse guided breathwork with a piece of music I might actually want to listen to.
To celebrate the release there will be a special event at Funkhaus. The evening will begin with collective breathwork guided by Embodiment Breathing, opening both the room and the audience to a shared, embodied state. Within that state, Iโll perform an improvised piano set with my friends @maddieashman on cello, live effects and vocals, and @leoabrahams on guitar.โ

Houndstooth & Mastery present Quantum Sound album listening on February 10th. For listening with eyes closedโฆย
Room One will be transformed into a cosy sound cave where the audience can lie down and sink into Hannah Hollandโs continuous mix of the album. Calling her ambient live sets a โmovie for the mind,โ Hannah shapes the album into a single ambient, classical and experimental score, opening with โBliss Code 000,โ where sound healing meets modular synthesis.ย
The newly updated bodykinetic dance floor transforms the sound into tactile vibration, enhancing haptic feedback and allowing the audience to feel every detail physically.ย
Mastery has invited neuroscience researchers from Goldsmiths University, lead by Creative Empirical, to record the brain activity of 10 audience members using portable EEG. The team will investigate how sound systems, vibration and collective immersion shape conscious states - an area of neuroscience never studied at this scale inside venues.
