At MONOM, we create 4DSOUND versions of existing works.
We take your music, film score, installation, or performance piece and transform it into a new multichannel composition — preserving the original DNA while opening it into space.
Spatial arrangement. Immersive mixing. Adaptation for large-scale playback systems. Preparation for 4DSOUND environments.
Deliverables include:
— Multichannel master for 4DSOUND
— Immersive spatial mix
— System-ready session configuration

“Spatial sound technologies allow us to take people on journeys, transporting them into completely different worlds.” – William Russell, MONOM
Beneath the hand-thatched roof of Reethaus, a space for new sonic realities opens to the sky. Designed with @monomstudios , the inner chamber is completed with a 16-channel omnidirectional sound system that creates immersive sound fields with no single directional reference.
Join us at the Flussbad Campus this Sunday, May 3, for a special Gallery Weekend Open Haus, and experience the making of spatial sound with one of the medium’s foremost innovators. Over the course of the afternoon William Russell of MONOM will spontaneously perform spatial improvisations at an open workstation in the heart of Reethaus, inviting visitors to see and hear his methods for sculpting sound.
Reserve your ticket for the listening experience via the link in our bio.
For individuals or groups looking to organize a private listening session and experience works created by MONOM Studio.
A selection of 4DSOUND works developed since the studio’s inception in 2017 to the present.
Sessions can be complemented with a deep dive into the 4DSOUND system, including an introduction to the software and its capabilities. There is also the option to incorporate a demonstration of how live instruments may be integrated within our spatial audio environment.
To explore the full range of available experiences, visit our website or check out our linktree.
— Session formats include:
• Curated playback from MONOM’s catalogue
• Introduction to spatial sound and system principles
• Live demonstrations of 4DSOUND capabilities
This is a one-time introductory experience—available to first-time applicants only—designed as an entry point for artists, musicians, and creatives interested in working with spatial sound. It offers a guided introduction to 4DSOUND.
* No prior experience with spatial audio required
* One-time access to the system
* 4h / 8h sessions
Working alongside a certified 4DSOUND engineer, participants are introduced to the fundamentals of the system—learning how sound can be positioned, moved, and shaped within space. The session combines technical orientation with direct experimentation, allowing ideas to be tested in real time.

During Gallery Weekend, Reethaus presents a rare opportunity to witness the technology underlying spatial sound composition with one of the medium’s foremost innovators. Join us on May 3 for our next Open Haus: Spatial Improvisations with MONOM’s founder William Russell.
Over the course of the afternoon, Russell will perform a series of spatial improvisations within the inner chamber of Reethaus: duets between physical instruments and digitally modeled “spatial entities” drawn from the dynamic movements of natural phenomena like wind, cascading water, and bird song. Using 4DSOUND, which allows these entities to function as receptacles for sound, Russell will shape the movement of sound through Reethaus’ 16-channel omnidirectional speaker system. The program interface will be visible throughout both improvisation and replay.
This event is part of the Friends with Reethaus annual pass. Individual tickets can be purchased via the link in bio.

ATHANOR
This winter, @lavender_faction and I were in residence at @monomstudios , where we composed over three weeks and spatialized over eight sessions a 28 minute work designed for the studio’s @4dsound spatial audio system.
The project involved a collaborative workflow in which our adapted processes to the 4D environment took form further as each of the four movements of the piece were realised, allowing for a narrative arc that corresponds to the creative process itself.
Reflecting the method of its creation, the title relates to the allegorical furnace of the psyche in archetypal psychology.
Athanor begins with a speculative and dreamlike collage of field recordings, reverb-drenched guitar and choral echoes that converge in aquatic synthesis before moving through fragmented and dynamic vocal abstractions and intricate rhythmic sound design. The final chapter envelops the space in harmonic resonance as waves of warm analog oscillations sweep across the spatial field.
Thanks to Monom for hosting us, and to @shehryawr for your expertise throughout the residency.
