Certain individuals capture the collective imagination through great leaps forward in technology, science, medicine, spirituality, the arts, sports and politics. These people pursue and perfect their intellectual, physical or creative genius often amassing great fame and fortune.
However, the rarest of people represent a cause or an ideal, that truly transcends them as an individual talent. They become an entire category unto themselves, with the mere mention of their name invoking understanding and gratitude for what they have undertaken on behalf of the entire human race.
In Sir David Attenborough’s case, words such as conservation, wildlife, nature could be interchanged with his and we would all understand what subject we are discussing. No single person has done more for our planet than this new centenarian. For 100 years our planet has been gifted with an individual who operates above politics, warfare, corporations and social media. He was sent to us from somewhere else. Mother Natures representative on earth.
