Saving our planet is a communications challenge. If enough people want change and take action, a sustainable future is within our grasp. We wanted to share our view on how this might be achieved and have been encouraged by the huge amount of ideas and passion shared with us here. This might be a wrap for this account - we won't be posting anything else, though the account will stay open for you to watch David's messages - but we hope it's a springboard for many others to build on and share the ways we might create a sustainable future. In this future, our air would be cleaner, energy more affordable, food healthier and the wild would return on land and in the seas. What part of this future inspires you most?

The highly talented @conormcdphoto took many shots during the filming of A Life on Our Planet but this one is his favourite. Here’s his story. I’ve been extremely lucky over the past three years to have travelled and worked with Sir David. We first met in the Maasai Mara as part of a @wwf_uk trip while he was filming pieces for ‘A Life on Our Planet’ with the incredible team from @silverback_films . I was allowed to see behind the scenes and photograph it all. After that I found myself in Davos, Washington DC and around the UK with him as he talked to politicians, world leaders and many more. Out of all my shots of Sir David I think this is my favourite. It was a moment where we were talking about the future of our planet with optimism and I really feel like I captured that positive emotion in David’s face. I hope that every individual who sees the film makes a difference in protecting the future of our planet.

We have the power to change the world for the better. That's the message we and David wanted to share on Instagram. This account will come to its end very soon. Our aim has been to inspire people to create change to save our planet and ourselves. All it takes is our imagination and the will. What kind of future can you imagine and how will we make it happen? A sustainable future is one full of hope and gains - for our biodiversity and each of us too. We've been inspired by your desire for change, your ideas and the action you've already told us you're taking. There are a few more videos from David that we'll be sharing and we'll all continue to do what we can to create a sustainable future, but we'd like to know what you'll continue to do to create a sustainable world?

In 2000, David filmed Life Of Mammals and delighted our screens with charming and characterful meerkats. The natural world brings us such joy. It’s at the heart of so much in life that makes us feel happy and healthy. None of us want nature to suffer at our hand, and we can choose a future in which it doesn’t.

Forests are magical places. They are among the most biodiverse places on Earth, filled with more species of animals than any other habitat on land. And they are incredibly good at absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and locking it away for many years – which is something we need if we are to control our climate. Perhaps the most magical thing about forests is that, given the space and the time, they will grow back to their former glory. We wanted to show that our seas are overused and under-protected in the film. Yet, if we protect our seas and oceans, the more fish there will be and the more there will be to eat. A Life On Our Planet film is produced by @silverback_films and @wwf_uk

In the late 70s, David wanted to tell the story of life itself in one of his groundbreaking series, Life On Earth, where he spent months with production crew filming over six hundred animal species. But biodiversity loss was already rising. We know that we are responsible for this loss but that we can turn things around. Who is responsible for making the change we need?

Everyone who made the film believes that nature is our greatest resource. The eternal energies of nature are our future. We have to move the whole world off fossil fuels, and we can all impact climate change by thinking about where and how we spend our money. We are hopeful that we can change our future, but we need to make big changes to society, government and business. Who will you speak with about the future of our planet and future? The A Life On Our Planet book is published by @grandcentralpub and @penguinukbooks

We were inspired by the ways people are creating more sustainable food systems when making the film. And we've seen many of you telling us how you're looking to change your diet since watching A Life On Our Planet. This account won't be live for long and we need to get as many people as possible making changes. What more can society do to help create more sustainable food choices?
