I heard something recently about love—that when you fall in love, you partly understand why, and partly you don’t. I think art works the same way.
This piece took two days to paint, and to me it feels like something caught between old VHS tapes.
Painting an entire building sounded easier than it actually was. Me, @hybriddesire and @jeru.nomi pushed through a sea of unexpected events —including lost paint deliveries, a blocked bank account.
But once you’re there, painting and watching it all come together- it doesn’t matter :p

HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR INAUGURAL MEET THE MEMBERS EVENT! ✨
On 16th Oct, we launched EETG’s new regular series — Meet the Members — at The Loop @wickcdt Hackney Wick! Huge thanks to photographer @rachelferriman for capturing the spirit of the night ❤️
It was an evening of connection, collaboration & community wealth-building — sparking local partnerships that keep value in the East End 💪
We heard inspiring words from Juliet Can @stour_trust , Len @jc_motores_ldm , and @krissie_nicolson celebrating the “life-affirming infrastructure” our communities create — from garages to galleries, bakeries to book arts. 🙌
Updates from Tosan Tuoyo (OnyxDelta) recognising the work of the Guild via Hackney Impact led by Henrietta Cyrille @thepoweroftalk , @lisagornick@propositionstudios + more showed the power of Guild members supporting each other to grow! 🌱
We were also joined by Deputy Mayor of London for Biz Howard Dawber and Assembly Members @zoegarbettgreen@semmoema , who reaffirmed support for a permanent CLT site — with talks continuing next week.
💥 Huge thanks to every member who made it happen — and to the team from Blockbrew’s @reefhouselager@oitij_jo@drinksquareroot@zherolondon@tiempotequila@gaiapulses@e5bakehouse , @fivepointsbrew@signaturebrew and more. Together, we’re building a fairer, stronger local economy. Special thanks to our incredible volunteers @_demitrik and Seb Quinn.
