💥 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: following a unanimous vote, @RepCasar has been elected Chair of the Progressive Caucus for the 119th Congress!
Hailing from the heart of Texas, we can't think of a better person to lead progressives in the fight against extremist GOP autocrats. ✊
We're thrilled to have Minnesota's incredible @repilhan returning to her role as Deputy Chair. No one fights harder for working people and human rights 😤💯
Last but not least: Illinois' @RepChuyGarcia , another revered and experienced progressive organizer, coalition builder, and labor movement ally, will be serving as CPC Whip! 👏
These members will follow in the footsteps of our powerhouse longtime Chairwoman, @repjayapal . Our entire Caucus and truly the entire nation owe her a great debt for what she accomplished for working people by turning the CPC into a cohesive fighting force in Congress.
Please join us in congratulating our new leadership + our new slate of Vice Chairs:

Since 1991, the Congressional Progressive Caucus has fought to deliver for working people over corporate interests, fight social and economic inequality, advance peace, and protect civil liberties.
In our 32nd year, we're more than 100 members strong, powered by committed, passionate, diverse representatives who bring their lived experience to bear and work for a more just world every day. We're bigger and more organized than ever — and we're just getting started.
Yesterday, we tried again to pass a War Powers Resolution to rein in this war that Trump started — this war that’s driving up the cost of fuel and everyday goods for the American people who are hurting. It failed in a tie.
Today, I filed my own War Powers Resolution — we’re going to keep pushing because more Republicans are coming over to this side, calling for the conflict to end, calling for the costs to go down, & calling for this president to stop acting so irresponsibly on the local, domestic, and international stage.
For 16 years, Citizens United has let corporations drown out voters’ voices. Hawaii’s new bill would strip corporations of the power to spend in state elections and restore democracy to the people. This is exactly the kind of bold campaign finance reform we need across America.
We must hold Republicans accountable for enabling Trump's reckless, illegal war. This war has cost thousands of lives and spiked prices of everything from gas to groceries. Progressive Caucus members have introduced 10 War Powers Resolutions to force Republicans to answer for it.
It’s MY constituents who are in harm’s way in Iran right now. That’s why I introduced a war powers resolution today to end this war and bring them home.

DOGE fired civil rights attorneys at the Department of Education, and it took Secretary McMahon 10 months to hire them back. The result: a massive backlog of cases and students having to endure unimaginable situations without assistance from the Department charged with protecting them.
Americans want national parks. Not a ballroom most will never get to use. Yesterday, I asked Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum if he had ever stood up to Trump for cutting a billion from national parks while spending the same amount on a ballroom. He refused to answer. I think that speaks for itself.
The Federal Reserve’s mandate for maximum employment is essential to ensuring jobs are available and people are employed—and removing it would devastate our economy and communities.
That’s why during @USHouseFSC markup, I introduced four amendments that:
—Preserve the Fed’s mandate to continue pursuing maximum employment.
— Ensure the Department of Labor regularly shares employment data each month.
—Renames their harmful bill to Ignore High Unemployment Act to reflect what it would actually do.
—Require the Fed to conduct a study on the likely impacts of AI adoption on employment so workers aren’t left behind.
But instead of standing with workers, Republicans voted them down.
While they continue advancing harmful, anti-worker policies, I’ll keep fighting for the dignity of work.
