17 million will lose healthcare. 12 million will go hungry. $1.3 TRILLION in cruel cuts all to hand tax breaks to billionaires. And they have the nerve to call this “fiscal responsibility”? Please! We won’t sit quietly while Republicans starve our people to feed the rich. Kill the Bill!

The Federal Reserve’s mandate for maximum employment is essential to ensuring jobs are available and people are employed—and removing it would devastate our economy and communities.   That’s why during @USHouseFSC markup, I introduced four amendments that:   —Preserve the Fed’s mandate to continue pursuing maximum employment. — Ensure the Department of Labor regularly shares employment data each month. —Renames their harmful bill to Ignore High Unemployment Act to reflect what it would actually do. —Require the Fed to conduct a study on the likely impacts of AI adoption on employment so workers aren’t left behind.   But instead of standing with workers, Republicans voted them down.   While they continue advancing harmful, anti-worker policies, I’ll keep fighting for the dignity of work.

Today, in Financial Services Committee, I made it clear: our job in Congress is to fight for job creation, affordability, and housing for all Americans. We have a responsibility to our constituents - and I’m holding my Republican colleagues accountable.

📺 WATCH: Ranking Member @repmaxinewaters speaks in support of the "Save Our Shrimpers Act": "Communities in places like #Louisiana, #Texas, #Florida, and #Georgia have deep, historic connections to the shrimping industry. They have raised concerns that foreign shrimping projects funded by international financial institutions (IFI) are helping to dramatically increase the farmed shrimp supply, causing a glut that is driving down the price of shrimp and harming American business."

Minority-owned small businesses are under-served by our financial system, and Trump’s proposed regulations would make that worse. That’s why we need policies like my SPARK Act, which would ensure that these small businesses are invested in and supported.
