Since being sworn in, we’ve brought home more than $65 million for Minnesota’s 5th District 💪🏽 This year alone, our office secured $10.8 million for 14 critical local projects. None of this happens alone. I’m deeply grateful to the local, state, and community leaders who championed these projects. Together, we'll keep fighting to build the safer, stronger Minnesota that our future generations deserve!

The right to due process is a cornerstone of our legal system. It doesn’t matter what your immigration status is — you have rights under our Constitution, and you should know what they are in the event that it becomes necessary. Make sure you are prepared. Make a family plan, contact a lawyer in advance, and memorize at least one emergency phone number.

✨Highlights from my first week back in Congress (January 3-10)✨ 1. I began my 4th term serving the people of Minnesota's 5th district, joining my colleagues for the swearing-in ceremony. 2. I participated in the Joint Session to Count Electoral Votes. 🗳️ 3. I was also deeply honored to attend President Jimmy Carter's funeral service. 4. Back home in Minnesota, I hit the ground running. I joined the building and construction trades at their Annual Breakfast. 🛠️ 5. Later, I hosted an immigration strategy session in Minneapolis, hearing directly from community members about protecting our immigrant families and neighbors. 6. I had a productive coffee meeting with Crystal's new Mayor Julie Deshler to discuss ways we can work together to support our shared community. ☕️ 7. I wrapped up the week by presenting Dr. Rachel Hardeman with a Congressional Record entry submitted in her honor last year. This recognition celebrates her inclusion on TIME's 100 Most Influential People of 2024 list. 📜

We just wrapped up another busy week here in Washington. Here’s how I was working for you: 1. As co-chair of the Cannabis Caucus, I joined a press conference to call on Congress to legalize marijuana nationwide and establish a rational, just, and humane cannabis policy. We have the opportunity to build a cannabis system that’s rooted in fairness and economic opportunity for all people, not just the wealthy and well-connected. 2. I reintroduced the Universal School Meals Program Act with @sensanders to give students free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks year-round. 3. As Ranking Member of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee, I emphasized the need to fully fund and staff workers’ protections agencies, like OSHA and NIOSH, and ensure we are able to identify emerging safety and health issues before they hurt American workers. 4. I questioned Education Secretary Linda McMahon on her decision to cap public student loans for degrees like nursing, teaching, social work, and other critical occupations. These caps will do nothing but make higher education more expensive and less accessible for students across the country. 5. I spoke on the House Floor in honor of Minnesota State Representative Erin Koegel for a decade of service to the residents of Fridley, Columbia Heights, Spring Lake Park, and Hilltop in the Minnesota state legislature. I look forward to seeing the positive impacts of her work for years to come!

For a decade, Rep. Koegel has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of everyday Minnesotans. It was an honor to serve with Rep. Koegel in the Minnesota State Legislature, and I look forward to seeing the positive impacts of her work for years to come! #MinnesotaMinute

When you create policies that make education unreachable for Americans who want it, you are failing at your job. Linda McMahon is failing.

Thrilled to join UMN's Community-University Health Care Center for the groundbreaking of their new facility! CUHCC has served over 12,000 Minnesotans every year for over six decades. It was my honor to present them with a Congressional Record recognizing their incredible work.

Workers rely on agencies, like OSHA, to keep them safe on the job. Yet, Trump's administration cut the agency's staffing down to a historic low. At this capacity, OSHA cannot implement the policies needed to keep workers out of harm's way. It's unacceptable.

In the richest country in the history of the world, it is simply outrageous that 1 in 5 children will go hungry this year. It’s time to end child hunger and make school meals free and universal.

My office hosted our annual CD5 Mayor’s Luncheon. Together, we’re working to ensure our communities get the support they need as they heal from the trauma inflicted by “Operation Metro Surge.” This is cogovernance at work!
