15 years of this film community
Today, I learned quickly that I can tag up 20 to people in a post, and that's no humble brag. I posted this group of the ASC awards pix I took and realized how the true riches we collect in this world are friendships. These pictures represent not just the last 15 years of my own friends, but also relationships between those pictured that stretch even further.
At the head of the carousel, I wanted to post this celebratory shot of
@baumanlights win of the theatrical award, because it represents this sentiment the most truthfully. Not just as the CLT of One Battle After Another,
@jus_van_gogh worked so hard for so long to get to this point, and the choked back tears don't lie. But they also represent the relationship with
@bdynice , who helped get him his union hours all those years ago. Ben and I have worked together in lighting manufacturing for 8+ years, and Justin and I met on set thanks to my AFI alumni mentor,

The fact, as well, that these photos only represent 1/8th of the colleagues and mentors I saw at the show and didn't take photos (and there were oodles of folks I didn't even get to see due to the hubbub) highlights this feeling of connectedness all the more.
This event represents the mutual dedication and care for this work and this mission to tell stories to move, inspire, and entertain. The world keeps changing, and we have so far to go.
