On Friday night at FM2025, @lowenddreams opened the FMMT tent and it was perfect. Long term FM fam & LED boss @iona.t invited @jasss_inc B2B @yazzus__ @parris.dj for a rare FWD>> set @paurrro @tompliments @vaquitaa.a (@iona.t b2b her bro @calan_ ) @celestial_artillery on visuals Sadly the set recordings from that night got corrupted (RIP) but @tompliments took it upon themselves to lovingly re-record their set for @ccl_url ’s @sub.glow mix series and it’s a weighty ride that shouldn’t be missed. “Here’s my two (and a bit) hour set from FM back in August, my favourite festival in the world [*blushing* - Ed.] This was by far the most time I’ve ever spent preparing for a single set or mix—I probably went through 10-15 crates of tracks, obsessing over flow, texture and tempo. Eventually, I landed here: an expression of love for dance music at 174/140 BPM. The set represents exactly what I personally wanna hear on massive sound systems right now and is a love letter to the hours danced in that field with my best friends. ✨FM appreciation post part 1 ✨ I am indeed a sucker for FM. My third one and I reckon my favourite to date. The crowd will always be my favourite part of FM and it was so great seeing so many pals, both those I met at FM previously and all the new ones made this year 💕 I barely got any photos but did get a few videos of some (but not all) of the sets I enjoyed. In order of appearance: ~ Vaquita was the perfect start. Slinky, lysergic and textured, we were Pied Piper-ed in by what we heard from outside and were so happy we had them set the tone for our FM. ~ ⭐️🔊 I’m afraid I peaked on Friday this year with Compliments’ set. This was the standout set of the festival for me and will always be one of my favourite FM memories. I wasn’t expecting dubstep at FM but when I walked in to Compliments and saw their Big Apple Records t-shirt, my heart did a little flip. They took us on a thoughtfully crafted and brilliantly executed ride through dubstep and some dubby techno (?? genres are hard) and it was amazing. Two of my friends said they wouldn’t stay long because they don’t like dubstep - they stayed the entire time and came out of that set having decided that not only do they like dubstep, they now want to come to some dubstep nights! @fieldmaneuvers please bring Compliments back next year 🙏 🔊 ⭐️ ~ Queen Daisy Moon launching us through peak time wonk and acid slammers in Sputnik, so much joy and moments of connection on that dance floor. ~ Aloka, always one of my non-negotiables - it was so rammed that I had to take refuge at the back after about 5 mins. 🌀continued in part 2 because I had too many words >>🌀
