Clean water is here! šŸ’¦ The first milestone of to.org’s Regenerate: Kakuma project is complete. This borehole marks the starting point for a new mental and physical health centre for the Kakuma Refugee Camp community. This project goes beyond the conventional, supporting holistic wellbeing through fitness, psychosocial care, education, and shared community space. It’s designed for both quiet reflection and collective energy. Water in place. Burundi Floods — Kajaga, Bujumbura | 2026 These images reflects the aftermath of devastating floods that hit Burundi between 2024 and 2025, as rising waters from Lake Tanganyika and the Rusizi River affected over 200,000 people. Captured in January 2026, it documents the continuing reality of climate-driven displacement in Kajaga, a suburb of Bujumbura. šŸ“· by @iamthabit_ Shot with @leica_camera M10 Lens : 50 mm #photography #documentaryphotography #leicacamera #flood #climatechange

Restoring Ecosystem Integrity in Kipungani šŸ‡°šŸ‡Ŗ Selective logging often leaves "hidden" degradation - gaps in the canopy and weakened regeneration that threaten coastal livelihoods. From January 29th to February 1st, we led a targeted restoration exercise to address these challenges. Key Highlights: šŸ“ Sites: Manai and Fatewa (Priority restoration zones) 🌱 Action: 2,000 seedlings planted by a team of 46 community members and KFS officers. šŸŒ Carbon Neutrality: This initiative serves as the flagship for our Mangrove Offset Tool, successfully offsetting the flight emissions of our partners @nachson_ at Foundation TO. @to.org_ This project demonstrates how data-driven tools can translate into tangible environmental recovery. We invite you to explore our Mangrove Management page to see how we are using this tool to power community-led conservation. Thank you to @to.org_ for your vital support in this monumental project in Lamu. One of the most inspiring parts of my trip was traveling to @sarara in central Kenya on 850,000 acres of conservation land, stewarded and co owned by the local community, the Samburu people. I’ve been hearing about Sarara for years from my dear friends @Elliot and @Nicole , who have invested in and have supported this amazing project for years and now thanks to @earthone_world i went! The Samburu people are a pastoral indigenous nomadic tribe of with an incredible fashion sense and talent for design, blacksmithing, and beading. I have traveled around the world in persuit of regenerative cooperative land stewardship models and this is by far one of the most Regeneretive and functional I have yet witnessed. It is evident from the staff, guides, elephant care takers, beaders, blacksmith to the goat herders there is a real sense of ownership, agency and responsibility, which is authentic. Co-owner of Sarara, Jeremy Bastard’s family arrived to the area 30 years prior and along with his wife @katie.rowe and they have been able to forge a level of deep trust, which is essential in regenerative placemaking. The Samburu tribe, are majority stakeholders in the safari businesses and operate the reteti elephant sanctuary and Sarara foundation as well as the nomadic montesori school, which was amazing! So many jobs have been created due to the operations of these businesses and philanthropic initiatives, so everyone is fully aligned for the best outcomes. 80 woman earn a living milking goats to feed the 27 baby elephants 🐘, 650 liters of goats milk per day! This is Regeneretive placemaking in action and a real live example worth modeling. By honoring the local indigenous traditions and ancient wisdom and by co creating and co designing systems, businesses and initiatives for, with and by the local people, everyone benefits. Nature and wildlife, the locals, the visitors. Win. win. win. Thank you šŸ™ Sarara for the incredible work you are doing! Please follow them and go visit soon! @nachson_ @darrenaronofsky @beartopia @bjarkeingels @thabitart_ @janesuda @ashleydbell #sararafoundation #regenerationinaction #kenya #samburu #retetifoundation #earthone

Earlier this fall, the humanitarian and entrepreneur Nachson Mimran (@nachson_ ) joined our editor-in-chief, @spencercbailey , on stage at @thelobbycph in Copenhagen for a live taping of our Time Sensitive podcast. The co-founder of @thealpinagstaad hotel in the Swiss Alps as well as a co-founder of the decarbonization, refugee empowerment, and ā€œhuman optimizationā€ organization @to.org_ , Mimran occupies vastly different, seemingly opposite worlds through his life and work, but finds in them much commonality and a shared definition of hospitality.Ā  With to.org, he’s creating deep impact through various design and development projects in refugee settlements, including the Bidi Bidi Performing Arts Center, completed last year in Uganda. At The Alpina Gstaad, he provides exceptional hospitality experiences that subvert certain traditional industry codes, fostering a relaxed but elevated environment. Listen to Mimran discuss his philosophies on hospitality, his transformative to.org projects, and more at link in bio šŸŽ§ šŸ“·: Nedergaard Film
