@bridgesformusic is a music school in Langa, Cape Town South Africa that empowers young people from the local Townships to work in music, whether it be as DJ’s, producers or behind the scenes in the industry. I was honored to be invited to visit the school, meet the students and hold a workshop, largely talking about my methods in a&r, my story and my practice.
I met so many beautiful people and got to take a tour of the neighborhood, hear the horror stories of the time of Apartheid and see and feel the energy and the rejuvenation of the people and the area.
This non-profit organization has over the last 13 years spread a message of hope and love for underprivilidged music lovers and continues to set the standard for community outreach in our world of electronic music.
