Exciting News! I’m beyond honored and stoked to lead this year’s Climbing for ROMP, benefiting @ROMPGlobal !
I can’t even begin to fill the shoes @lpizzski left behind, but I promise to bring the same passion and dedication to make this year’s Climbing for ROMP more impactful than ever.
For the past six years, @ROMPGlobal has changed my life. From participating in Climbing for ROMP, visiting the clinic in Guatemala, supporting the satellite clinic in Macas, and even delivering mobility deep in the Amazon—I’ve seen firsthand the power of this mission.
Climbing for ROMP has transformed the way I climb, the purpose behind every ascent, and most importantly, it has changed thousands of lives by restoring mobility to those who need it most.
I’m thrilled to build upon what LP has created and take this program to new heights!
If you haven’t already, make sure to follow @ROMPGlobal to stay updated on volunteer opportunities, the climb team, and more. Let’s make this year bigger than ever! 🦾

“Still Alive” is an ode to climbing, an exemple of how pursuing our dream can help to over come all the challenges.
Thanks @klaas_willems for sharing your extraordinary story. A movie to watch on Petzl’s YouTube Channel

Alaska never disappoints but this was one for the books. I was looking for a specific image when I stumbled on some that @tczech shot of me aboard the @milosurfboat back in 2023
It’s rare to have images of myself in these wild places. I had the fun opportunity to join Tony in documenting a short surf film with @annagudauskas and @danedamus and @caleyvanular - we had an insane time. Weather came in creating a swell that brought us to waves that might not exist without such rare conditions.
Everywhere I looked I felt like a kid on Christmas. Sea cliffs coming straight up to the edge of the world with potentially unsurfed waves crashing against them. Swimming with wildlife and some of the greatest surfers and people around. Losing our anchor and fumbling around a cannery shooting photos.
This trip was kind of like being in the mountains, we had gnarly crossings with big swell, we got rain, sun, wildlife, rocks, we lost our anchor but the vibe was smiles through it all. It was truly an epic one with an epic group of people and I wouldn’t trade those memories for the world.
I’m having a blast going through the archive, can’t wait to share more.
❤️🥶
I had to get a print together for an upcoming project and I named this one “home for now” and sent it off with the below moment.
Buzzing past huge mysterious walls of rock and glacier we landed safely. The weather was perfect. We were looking around like kids rattling off routes and climbs we’d heard of while burying our cache. Our cache was a duffel holding 2 packs of powdered donettes 2 beers and a guidebook that likely would have helped us later.

I was with my climbing partner, Tanner Jones, a sled full of food, gear, and 24 rolls of film.

We were off to a good start only stopping to re-rig sleds and find what worked best to distribute weight. We pushed through some wind and got to our first camp with confidence. We stayed there a night or two and pushed up the mountain.

When some weather came in at 11k Camp Tanner simply said “guess this is home for now”. A few days and many card games later, the weather cleared and I walked off to take one more photo of our short lived home.
The rest mountain was still an unknown and leaving camp I was only hoping the weather would hold. That moment, stepping out of camp, felt a lot like moving away from home for the first time. Heading straight into the unknown and hoping you’re as prepared as you thought.
Which we now know, none of us ever are.Â

Life’s short, simple as that. While this week was hard with the loss of a close friend, I could hear Greg telling me “enjoy the celebration with friends and cry later, you’re here now and I’ll still be gone tomorrow.”.
It may sound dark but Greg was someone who always seemed to be able to prioritize being present. I tried to muster up a fraction of that and I’m glad I did.
Climb on my friend and we’ll all be seeing you lead us to the summit with that bright smile in the night sky. ❤️
I’m always traveling for work which is amazing but, a trip like this with someone you love is even better. Not always working/living through the camera is a hard thing to balance... Of course we always had cameras but through different lens. ❤️ @luciabbruu
Even though we haven’t gotten super lucky with weather or surf, we’ve made the best of each day and surfed the little swell that exists. Im learning to relax on the beach, so that’s kinda nice
91 years of grit, brilliance, and stories that sounded too big to be true. I don’t post too many personal things but Dicky deserves to be celebrated.
From clean up crew in WWII to wrangling cattle in Montana and shaping the Ferrari Daytona under Enzo himself. He has impacted all of our lives with his inventions and mine with his stories. He told me stories of the west, traveling the world, and taught me what it means to be a man.
We found each other when I was a lost young “cocky little sh*t” with no direction. We argued like family and dreamed up plans like kids.
Dicky saved me from poor decisions and pointed me in the direction of adventure. “A soul with no direction is a waste”. He made me read old westerns before I could even touch a Ferrari. At the time I thought it was dumb but each story held a lesson that would impact me later in life.
The force of reason, hard logic, and common sense - he said it to me every day I was in his shop. Engineer at the source whether it’s a machine or an emotion.
Dicky was my best friend, one of my only true friends and the greatest mentor a boy could ask for as he grew into a man. I’ll miss him dearly and can only hope to see him again in the heavens with the legends.
Love ya, go get your girl.
When you take a random group of individuals and agree to work towards the same goal, magic happens. This team rose to the occasion, fundraised for people they may never meet, a cause that is close to the heart, and climbed Cotopaxi (19,347ft) to show what is possible with quality prosthetic care.
It was an absolute honor to lead this team through the year and up this mountain. Each and every climber and patient we help has had an immeasurable impact.
I love these people and I’m so honored to have a small part in @rompglobal ’s mission.
Thank you all for the opportunity and dedication and thank you @tanmacjones & @taylor_haines , couldn’t have done it without your leadership.
Tomorrow I leave for Ecuador for my 7th climb with @rompglobal . It stings to say but when I went down in 2021 I was planning to bag a peak and gain experience when something magical happened. I realized climbing could help others and I left with a purpose. A purpose greater than any peak, rock, or route.
To share these mountains with anyone and everyone is what it’s all about and now everything I climb has a deeper meaning than getting to the top. I climb for ROMP, I climb for the amputees in need, and I climb to make immobility a thing of the past.
Please consider donating to @rompglobal via the link in bio. This organization changes lives every day and the waitlist for a prosthesis is only growing larger.
Thanks ❤️

Im not one to post personal things on here but since he was possibly the most photogenic person I know and truly someone special, I thought I’d finally share a bit.
I always felt fortunate to grow up having all 4 of my grandparents, it felt rare. There was always “still” so much time to spend with them and hear stories. No matter how much time you have with someone, it never feels like enough and I would only ask for one more day if I could.
He’d want us to sing and dance and laugh rather than mourn or cry and that’s exactly what we did.
So, rest in peace to my grandfather, Francesco Lantella. A truly special person full of laughter, singing, and character. The jokes and singing never got old and I only wish we could have heard one more laugh or one more song.
Riposa in pace ❤️
Some of the most memorable moments happen during the “in between”. The time spent on your way to climb or after the climb. Usually around a table where food brings everyone together.
This was one of those times while climbing with @rompglobal in 2023. We left the training climb as a wildfire broke out and were welcomed to amazing (spicy) food.
My climbs with ROMP are my favorite moments of my life - please donate if you can at the link in my profile.
