Last weekend some of my photos were on display at the base of Whistler — the wild little big town I went to high school in.
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve walked through there.
I’ve won snowboard contests there. Watched my brother jump through rings of fire there. Approached by my first sponsor there. Watched so much live music during the Olympics there. Celebrated some of my best friends’ biggest life moments right there.
Funny how one place can hold so much.

Feeling lucky to have the mountains in my backyard. Yesterday was all about fresh air, a little movement and not rushing it. Plan was easy — home to the objective, back before dark — and then let the day take it from there.
Long days usually go better for me when the basics are covered. Protein’s one of mine. @stompnutrition

it snowed 100cms overnight and no one even blinked
we were digging the car out before it was light
outerwear still damp from the powder day before
hands numb just to get moving
snow removal machinery scraping
elders clearing snow off their roof
people pushing their tiny vans up the steep part of the road
we thought we’d make first chair
waited for hours instead for them to dig out the lifts
it’s lowkey what I love about snowboarding in Japan
snow light enough to disappear
soft enough to swallow sound
every turn quieter than the last
