On this International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, we want to share with you one of the most powerful ways to fight hate and support your queer communities:
Give them your business āØ
We mean it! Supplier diversity is so incredibly important, and supporting queer businessesāas a patron, collaborator, or even just a vocal cheerleaderācan make a powerful impact on the future of our community and the generations to follow.
Here are some snippets of work weāre particularly proud of, created in partnership with queer-owned businesses and local legends we love š
So many of us had to figure things out on our own. š¢
Today, @gaymenssexualhealthalliance is proud to launch āIf no one ever told you, we will (with loveš)ā ā a new campaign created to provide affirming, evidence-based sexual health information and support for gay, bi, queer, Two-Spirit, trans, and other men who have sex with men across Ontario. š
Alongside the campaign, weāre also launching the new āØGMSH.CA⨠ā a redesigned digital hub that brings together trusted information, prevention tools, service navigation, and community resources in one accessible place.
This campaign is rooted in real experiences and honest conversations about sex, health, belonging, stigma, care, and community.
At its heart is a simple message: no one should have to navigate these experiences alone. š
Weāre deeply grateful to the many community members, partners, and collaborators who helped bring this work to life.
Special thanks to @artscienceto for their creative and strategic partnership throughout this process, and to designer and illustrator @timpsingleton for the powerful hero artwork anchoring the campaign launch.
Additional artists and community voices will be featured throughout the campaign rollout in the months ahead so keep your eyes on this page! š

Because if no one ever told you, we will. With love. š

On this International Day of Trans Visibility, I am reflecting on a podcast Prentis Hemphill did with Bayo Akomolafe that I recently listened to.
Ā
It was from 5 years ago & Iām not sure how I stumbled on it, probably because I was looking for hope & I find both of them to be lighthouses.
Ā
Anyways Bayo talked about the dangers of activism rooted in wanting the nation state to recognize our personhood & he reminded us: āthere are risks in being seen.ā
Ā
5 years ago yaāll.
Ā
It has always been risky to be visible as a trans person in the Unites States AND we are watching these risks escalate with the rise of facism:Ā
ā The risk of harassment
āĀ The risk of discrimination
āĀ The risk of dehumanization
āĀ The risk of violence
Ā
I pass no judgment on anyone who weighs those risks & decides in favor of their safety. Our identities belong to us & we do not owe our visibility to anyone. Full stop.
Ā
What I have been thinking about for myself, though, is what are the risks of not being seen, of allowing myself as a trans non-binary person to be invisibilized?
Ā
There are risks in being seen.
Being visible is a threat.
Ā
Hereās some of the reasons I am choosing visibility anywaysā¦
Ā
1. I am committed to showing up & leveraging the privileges that I have access to solely because of the risks taken by those who came before me. They dreamed of & fought for a world where I have the rights I do today.
Ā
2. I am devoted to those who will come after me. I want them to know what I didnāt know when I was young: that there is a room for their truth in this world. I am going to show them it is possible to carve a life thatās filled with joy, even amidst the heartache.
Ā
3. In my own way, I guess I am trying to be a lighthouse; a reminder to my kin that there are spaces that exists where they can be held in their fullness & supported in their healing.
Ā
4. Because little AJ fought hard to become, & I love her too much go back into hiding.
5. I feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory but I affirm my right to exist despite the systems & powers that would prefer that I didnāt. I refuse to be bullied, to let the manufactured fear overwhelm my willingness to live outloud.
March 31st is #TransDayOfVisibility, but right now, trans people donāt just need visibility - they need protection, advocacy, love, support, respect, resources, and a break from this constant onslaught of indignity, harassment and hate.
.
Elected leaders across the country are taking steps to eliminate trans peopleās ability to exist; from invalidating driverās licenses to placing bounties on trans people using bathrooms, to banning access to basic life-saving care, thereās a full-scale and coordinated effort to erase, deny and prevent the existence of trans people. It wonāt work - trans people have always and will always exist.
.
Today and always:
* Speak upāsilence enables harm
* Defend trans people, online & offline
* Share trans voices (not just headlines)
* Donate to trans-led orgs
* Support mutual aid, especially efforts to help people relocate to safer states
* Support trans-owned businesses
* Call out misinformation
* Push for protections at work/school
* Vote like lives depend on it š³ļø
* Check in. Show up. Stay loud.
.
Trans people deserve safety, dignity, and the right to make decisions about their own bodies - just like everyone else. The same forces targeting trans people are attacking abortion access and healthcare rights for all. Whatās happening now wonāt stop with one community. Now is the time for solidarity and a deep recognition that all of our rights are inextricably intertwined.
