Repost @pridepalacelgbt No matter what comes, we will protect each other.
In the coming months and years, supporting each other will be more important than ever. Letâs build community.
Share this and tag an ally that you love. Letâs nurture those connections, and know that youâre not alone.

Passion alone doesnât build capacity. (Don't you kinda wish it did tho?) đ¤PrideVMC needs board members who want to leadânot just support. đŞ People who understand systems and process, can navigate complexity, and are ready to help build what comes next. đ ď¸If youâre the one who starts organizing when things feel messy⌠this is your lane. đď¸

Letâs talk about the picture people carry in their heads. When someone says âlesbian,â most people donât picture a range. They picture a type. And in veterinary medicine, that picture misses⌠a lot.
Lesbians in this profession donât look one way. We donât show up in one role. And weâre not always visible in ways people expect.
Sometimes visibility is obvious. Sometimes itâs a choice.
Sometimes itâs invisible unless someone tells you.
And sometimesâvisibility comes with risk.
Because being seen isnât always the same as being safe.
That matters. And itâs real.
But so is this: when we expand what people see, we make more space for those who come next. This week isnât about fitting into a version of visibility people recognize.
Itâs about expanding what visibility actually looks like.
đ What does being visible in vetmed look like for you?
Share your photo. Tag @PrideVMC . Help us build a more honest picture of whoâs already here. #lesbianvisibilityday #vetmedpride #pridevmc
Thank you @pridesvmc and @pridevmc for having me đđ Trans people donât just exist: they have existed across the world for centuries. We are a slice of the world, that is fabulous đ
And queer cis ally @alancummingreally demonstrates beautifully how to stand up for his trans siblings with words and action! It was fun lip syncing to a masterful community monologue.

Thank you to the fellow students who raised me, a terrified 20 year old trans enby who didnât know what was going on.
The altos, baris (baritax) and drums along with many others scattered across the band gave me a safe home to figure it out in. It wasnât always perfect, and Iâm so proud of how far the @ucdmarchingband has come since I left.
Iâm so proud of trans bandsmxn.
And thank you to @veritas_22 for being my Haus parent and raising me to twirl some flags with gusto, with a fanny PACK reveal of course đ

Today is the Day of Silenceâa movement recognizing the silencing of LGBTQIA+ voices.
In veterinary medicine, silence doesnât always look obvious. It shows up in small, everyday momentsâwhen someone chooses not to correct, not to share, not to speak. And while those moments may seem quiet, their impact isnât.
Psychological safety isnât just a culture conversationâitâs a patient care conversation. When our teams donât feel safe to speak, we lose clarity, connection, and trust in the moments that matter most.
Today, we honor the silence so many carry. Tomorrow, we commit to building spaces where no one has to.

Weâve started hearing from community, friends, and allies across veterinary medicine about the Pride celebrations theyâre showing up for this June and beyondâand honestly, itâs giving connection in a time when we need it most.
From local gatherings to big, joy-filled festivals, itâs a reminder that Pride isnât just a momentâitâs a movement we build together, wherever we are.
Whatâs on your calendar this year? Where will you be showing up, celebrating, or creating space for others? What queer community connections exist in your vetmed life?
Weâll start a running list of events weâre hearing aboutâif youâve got one to add, drop it in the comments so we can keep building this together. đ
International Asexuality Day matters because asexuality is still so often misunderstood, erased, or treated like something that needs to be explained away.
Asexuality is a valid sexual orientation. It does not mean someone is broken, cold, incapable of love, or âjust hasnât met the right person.â Asexual people can have deeply meaningful relationships, rich emotional lives, and full identities, with or without sexual attraction.
And like so many things around identity, there is not just one way to be asexual. Some people are sex-repulsed, some are sex-neutral, some are sex-favorable. Some are also aromantic, some are not. Some figure it out early, others take years to find the language that fits. All of that is real. All of that belongs.
Today is a reminder that visibility matters, language matters, and respect matters.
You do not need to understand every identity from your own lived experience to honor it. You just need to believe people when they tell you who they are.
Happy International Asexuality Day to everyone on the ace spectrum. You deserve to be seen, respected, and included.

Today weâre celebrating our asexual community. đđ¤đ¤đŠś
Asexuality is real. Itâs valid. And itâs so often misunderstood. Being ace simply means someone experiences little to no sexual attraction. Thatâs it.
It doesnât mean broken. It doesnât mean aces donât love. It doesnât mean missing something. It doesnât mean âyou just havenât met the right person.â It means being exactly who you are.
Our ace colleagues, friends, and community members show up every day - caring for patients, supporting teams, building relationships, and bringing so much depth and perspective to this profession.
There are so many ways to experience connection, love, and belonging. And all of them are worthy of respect.
To our asexual Pride crew: we see you, we value you, and weâre really glad youâre here. đť

Trans people are humans. Full stop. They are clinicians, teammates, leadersâbringing skill, compassion, and brilliance to this profession every single day.
Thatâs what deserves to be celebrated.
Instead, many are scared. Actively being targeted.
Watching their rights be stripped away in real time.
In a profession built on empathy⌠that should stop us in our tracks.
So today, we celebrate them for exactly who they are.
Not as a talking point. Not as a problem to solve. As people.
Full stop.
And if youâre here for that celebrationâ đ rock on.
Now help create workplaces where that humanity is protected, not debated. We can do better. We have to.
