Here she is, signed, sealed, delivered, and (almost) yours! 📬Just a couple more days till the first FCP launch on Sunday at noon PST both online and in-store at @shopmakers_kitsilano This 8”x8” print was created using my Dad’s stamp collection of mostly 1930s–1960s stamps from Switzerland, East & West Germany, the UK, Austria, Canada, the US and even a couple from my Yugoslavian roots, it was printed on a beautiful 110lb Mohawk watercolour paper here in Vancouver. For the next few days I’m going to share pieces from my upcoming FCP drop and this particular one is super special to me. For anyone who isn’t friends and family and might not know Frankie’s story, at just 3 years old my little guy developed a rare spinal disorder that came on suddenly and was rapidly progressing. Despite getting him into extensive surgery right away, my boy was not able to fight any longer and had to leave this world far too early. When this little bean came into my life I had no idea how much a dog could change the course of things for me. He opened my world to a different way of looking at life, taught me to confront the things that scared me, and how to love ferociously. He’s been gone just about 7 months now and not a day goes by where I don’t think of him. The process of this first FCP drop has been incredibly cathartic for me and I can’t wait to share the rest of the pieces inspired by him. Didn’t love how many lines I originally painted on this design of my boy Franklin so I’m cleaning it up a bit with some fresh white gouache. I’ve always preferred starting off my creative projects with my hands before moving onto the computer, gives me more control. Stay tuned to see what this lil guy turns out like!
