It’s my great pleasure that we show our latest work to you all. @thisisevank gave us the chance to work for @realmarcusking again, recreating some badass vintage styled @marshallamps 8X10 speaker cabs. All authentic materials straight from the UK 🖤🖤 We designed some 4X10 P.A speaker towers for @sleevelessmikerunyon with the same styling and authentic components! Thanks to @celestionuk for sending huge tone in the form of 40 G10 Vintage 60W to load into the cabs. Those lucky enough to be at @stagecoach tomorrow night, go see Marcus King Band tearing shit up 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 I love this job, the work and the community of friends we get to work with! We appreciate everyone who has supported our small company in any positive way and I am very grateful to all of you. To our small team; this was an exceptional challenge that we all agreed to accept. Everyone threw in extra effort, their years of expertise, craftsmanship and pride of workmanship. I can’t thank you all enough and this certainly wouldn’t have been possible without all of us contributing! ❤️ #marshallamps #marshallampsuk #pacificwoodworks #westcoastpedalboard

So thrilled and grateful this collection of songs has found its way out into the world! All of the core tracks to this album, vocals included, were recorded live as a band, in a room, playing together. Recorded to 2” analog tape- committing to performances, accepting human error (including that of your humble recording engineer), the slower, more deliberate, and effectively less budget-friendly process. All in an effort to capture something that we believe to be beautiful and worthy of our own memory of how they sound and make us feel. Letting it unfold in front of us for the first time. It is a process I love, but do not expect of every project, nor is it even appropriate for every project! But for this album, these songs, it felt right! And goddamn if it isn’t therapeutic just to make something! Perhaps I’m biased (tape joke…you may laugh & applaud). But I’m grateful to Sam, Ben, Taylor, and Alex for leaning in and holding to it. I feel bonded to these fine people thru the recordings and our experiences making them together. We’ll always have that. And now, quite literally, the rest of the world can hear and experience it as well on their own terms, and feel how it makes them feel. samgraffnow.bandcamp.com , amongst the other DSPs Thanks @y.a.l.l.b.o.i for gracing us with a layering of otherworldly pedal steel, Austin @eastsidestudiosatx for creatively-invested overdubs while I was out on tour, @wil_kellyy for directing the live videos from these sessions, and Max @rareear for the true-to-the-source mastering, @gumaamug for the brilliant album photography, and @estuaryrecording for continuing to be an artist & community based recording studio. @samgrafnow @taylor.t @benjamin_dubenjamin @alexriegelman

Very excited for Jess’s book to come out this month, Oct 22! ‘You Had To Be There’ is part memoir, part academic, connecting the dots between existentialism, modern culture and nature. I hope it finds its way into your hands. Link to order in my bio.

Curtis’ new record ‘The Pollen and The Rot’ is out today. It was recorded at @estuaryrecording with some beautiful and talented human animals, mixed mostly remote while sitting fireside and with furry non-human animals at arm’s reach. Ideal conditions I’d say. At any rate, it’s always a privilege and pleasure to work with such an artist. The feeling never gets old. Could not have done it without engineering assistance from the mighty @allie_lingren at @neat_noise Mastered by @lungplung at @rareear whose work never ceases to honor the mix and the artist’s intent.

10 years since the release of ‘You Knew’, an album that changed the course of my life. Being in Mother Falcon was like being in a traveling circus - a long family trip filled with songs, collaboration, artistic exploration, protection and love for each other. It was a support net for me when I needed it most. Since then I’ve continued to work on numerous projects with my former bandmates - there is a bond of trust you can only get from living in a van with someone for four years. I’ve also grown in my own direction, but traces of those formative years still influence me every day. This post is mostly for myself, to have a marker to remember it by. As the resident recording engineer I can revisit recordings like old photographs - listening to our albums occasionally, along with the many live recordings, unreleased songs and demos that only I and a few band members possess. Remembering but always pressing forward spiritually with @motherfalconmus
