i’ve been trying to figure out how to talk about this film. my entire adult life has been — career wise — orbiting around getting my first feature film off the ground. I’ve dreamt of what it would feel like to walk on set the first day of MY first real film.
there have been so many misfires. close calls. sure things. none of which panned out. and as trite and cliche as it sounds, jackrabbit exists because we just wouldn’t take no for an answer. not in a way that ever felt that big. but in small ways. head down. moving forward. every day.
@hannahalline and i caught up over coffee in april of this year. she texted me afterward and said she wanted to produce jackrabbit. i said “great. you’re now the producer of jackrabbit.” not long after, we brought on the brilliant @robravenscroft to be the adult in the room. and we just… started.
there’s so much more to the story. moments where it felt like everything was absolutely going to fall apart. but we held fast to our pretend shoot dates. we made plans with money we didn’t have yet. and somehow — by some miracle — things became real.
i woke up in a hotel room about a month ago at 2:15am. day 1 of jackrabbit. i took a shower. i got dressed and looked in the mirror, not sure exactly how i’d arrived at that moment. but sure that i was ready. i had been working toward this moment for a very very long time. the next two weeks were truly a dream come true.
none of this would have happened without the abundance of generosity from friends, family and colleagues. so many people who believed in me. believed in this project. and joined us in truly willing this film into existence.
and that’s why this feels so important. this image. this poster. it’s all in contained here. a unique and bold world brought to life by a small group of absolute world class artists.
thank you all. more than i can ever express. i can’t wait to share jackrabbit with you soon.
guys. we are SO excited to share a first look of our film “Jackrabbit” with you today. (but just a little teaser)
but we also need your help! we have been overwhelmed and are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped us get this far. now we’ve reached the home stretch: postproduction.
we hope you enjoy seeing a little behind the scenes as well as a first look at the film. please like, share and consider supporting “Jackrabbit” at the link in my bio.
and maybe if we hit our goal by thanksgiving we’ll share the full trailer? do we like this idea?
love you all. 🐇❤️
