So much love to everyone who joined us last week for SYNC UP: Resonance of Heritage 🩶
We had a really special evening exploring themes of storytelling, archiving and preservation of heritage through a screening of films by
@hark1karan and
@tsunaina , followed by an insightful conversation moderated by
@dalia.aldu into their wider artistic practice and how archives infiltrate their work.
Our multi-sensory listening session invited guests to experience practices of memory preservation and heritage continuation through a mix of music & field recordings produced in collaboration with sonic artist
@oliviamelkonian_ while they enjoyed delicious custom canapés by
@ayeshaerkin blending traditional South Asian and West Asian flavours with a contemporary twist (shout out pom-bear).
Kisses to our DJs
@shaaaamaaaan @s.hivum &
@mabroukmabruk who kept us moving all night with their global sounds 🕺🏾
A huge thank you to our collaborators
@atthecasbah , our sponsor
@escentric_molecules , our fave drink sponsor
@peakmoods , the delicious condiments from
@tckcondiments , our dear friend
@tahaizzi for the gorgeous pictures & last but not least,
@annaomorgan for being such a supportive dream to work with 🫶🏽
This partnership between RASMi and WANAWAL is an exciting first step and we’re really looking forward to inviting you into many more ideas and events that will focus on archival practice and heritage preservations in its many forms.
Love,
Sunayah and Êvar x
