You should be reading this one already…☕️ Join us on May 7th at OKHA to discuss Cursed Daughters by @oyinbraithwaite followed by a tour of the @vam_east  museum with @drybabe . “No man will call your house his home. And if they try, they will not have peace... So goes the family curse, handed down from generation to generation, ruining families and breaking hearts as it goes. And now it’s calm, rational Eniiyi’s turn - who, due to her uncanny resemblance to her dead aunt, Monife, and her family’s insistence that she must be a reincarnation, has long been used to some strange familial beliefs. Still, when she falls in love with the handsome boy she saves from drowning, she can no longer run from her family’s history. Is she destined to live out the habitual story of love and heartbreak, or can she escape the family curse and the mysterious fate that befell her aunt?” Cursed Daughters available on our website now 🔗 The V&A East Museum, opened in April 2026, a place to make new discoveries, explore untold stories and share ideas - with half a million works, it’s a sourcebook for your creativity. We look forward to walking you through this incredible space. —— May 7 Book Club - V&A East Storehouse, E20 3AX 7pm V&A East Museum tour facilitated by @drybabe 8pm

We held our 2nd OKHA Book club of the year this week. We discussed deeply So Long A Letter by Mariama Ba and the problem of certain men, dishonesty, cultural and religious customs that stifle young women and girls and also the bravery of Mariama Ba and all the women who challenge the injustice and the bonds between friends that really really does give us strength when we need it. Overall consensus - this is a great book! You can still get the book on our website, we definitely recommend. Next up: Cursed Daughters by Oyinkan Braithwaite - link in bio to RSVP
