“Neurolinguistics is the study of the brain's ability to be transformed by language.” Portal Of Wellness is an inquiry into how AR can serve as a tool to enhance the natural ability language has to transform the brain. Through using an innovative new medium AR. Users are able to experience the gravitas of the language used, through having to interact with the words for the best experience. Affirmation are the intentional use of words to positively transform ones life. This is a concept that encourages the user to engage with the affirmations and become open to being transformed by the real power these affirmations hold. I’m happy that using AR I can replicate something of the joy of making those intentional steps. I see this project elevating through the use of AR glasses, further lessening the barriers for experiencing this Portal, this project was made using @adobeaero and requires the use of a phone to experience it. HXR Fest @hxr.world International Woman’s Day gallery takeover. It was a pleasure to contribute to the occasion through developing this generative system, complementing an atmosphere celebrating women-led creativity, film and story-telling. As a queer Black woman I took it as an opportunity to celebrate myself too, contributing through a relatively new mode of expression in the form of generative creative technology felt especially significant to me. Thank you @ayatelzz it was inspiring witnessing you make the day the beautiful occasion that it was🩷💐

Happy Mother’s Day! It’s a complicated day for some, including myself, but more of a reminder of the importance of matriarchal care. I have a framed picture of Maya Angelou laughing on my wall and someone once asked if that was my mum - I was so happy lol. I’ve always claimed Maya Angelou as my spirit mother, through her words I’ve always felt guided with maternal wisdom as I learn to trust my intuition. She’s walked her own very complicated path, one that she spoke on without shame or through grief. Muva energy is generation defining, it’s an embodiment and a way of being that transcends biology, it’s an inner power to live and speak in truth. It’s care, nurturing, creativity and responsibility, that when witnessed is invigorating. I believe the world heals when we honour our matriarchs.

Digital learning and creativity is very important to me, it’s something that helped my low confidence growing up, and over the years, helped me to come out of my shell. For that reason I try and push past any nerves to share as much as I can about my process, my experiments and the software I use to create. I recognise that it’s so much bigger than the output itself, it’s really who you become in the process of daring to learn and to make. In 2025, I started a TouchDesigner group with a few informal online meet-ups discussing the software, and in February 2026 as part of Arebyte’s digital training sessions, I ran my first in person TouchDesigner workshops. Over the course of 2 Saturday mornings, we began with the basics of the software and then ended with a show and tell. Many of the participants requested I do more and there will be over the course of the year🙏🏾 Thank you @arebyte for making this a possibility and supporting in bringing these workshops to life💜

In 2024, myself and Lex Fefegha were commissioned by @digitalbodyfest to bring Ekombi dance into the digital realm through Metahumans in Unreal Engine. The Ekombi dance is a traditional dance amongst the Efik people of Calabar, Cross River State in south-eastern Nigeria - where we’re both from. It’s a dance that embodies the beauty of feminine allure whilst honouring the divine forces that govern the waters that sustains coastal life in the region. For this project, I learned the dance to the best of my ability and captured the movements through a motion body tracking suit courtesy of @whitleydanceco . I recreated the costumes through custom digital fashion pieces to capture all the important details - from the face makeup (ndom) to the ankle ornament (mkpat etim). This project is one I feel especially proud of, it was both an opportunity for me to reconnect with my cultural heritage and an example of how digital bodies can be used as sites for cultural preservation. #bts #calabar #efik #unrealengine5

Somewhere between… aunty duties, recovery, researching, meeting submission deadlines and talks.
