Atmospheric Seeing is an interactive installation shaped from historical cloud archives and real-time weather inputs, gathering the unseen particles of the air into a cubic sculptural form at human scale. Vast local atmospheric data (approx. 2,149,690 km²), normally stretched across the sky, is drawn inward until it becomes a space the body can slowly walk through.
Originally developed in 2019, the work has been chosen for
@noorriyadhfestival 2025 under the “In the Blink of an Eye” curatorial theme. It reflects our early artistic curiosity and research in how invisible atmospheric elements can be measured and revealed, extending perception beyond ordinary senses.
We are interested not only in what the data shows, but in the act of measurement itself: how capturing something as vast and fluid as the atmosphere reduces it to discrete signals, and how those signals can be translated into a space and reactive sculptural form that can be felt, danced with, moved through, and inhabited.
Inside this meditative cubic sculpture, light, sound, mirrors, and responsive technology turn cloud-liquid measurements into a drifting, living presence, navigated by the audience. With every step, the environment shifts, folds, brightens, and settles: a choreographic dance of perception, matter, and movement, allowing one to walk through 2,149,690 km² of local cloud information.
