𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑮𝑬𝑺#𝟑 𝐱 𝐢𝐌𝐀𝐋 Artist Residents: 𝗔𝗺𝗼𝘀 & 𝗬𝗼𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗱 Born in 1997, the twins Amos and Yoel are Antwerp and The Hague-based multidisciplinary artists whose work spans from 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰, 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲, 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝘁 and 𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Their artistic practice is to create a shared ground in which objects, thoughts, sounds, and systems can be played with like instruments. Coming from a background in sound, they build sculptural, theatrical, and technological environments: "𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴." During their residency, they'll be working on their new project 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓 [𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘭𝘦] which reenact the return of such digital entities to introduce new forms of technologies for our digital, post-human world. Talk and concert alert on the 29th May 🔥 Alongside Alex McLean, we will count on amazing French livecoder Agathe Herrou, known musically as th4 @th4music , Agathe is a developer and mathematician based in Leuven. A classically trained theoretical computer scientist, she was drawn to TidalCycles back in 2017 from her love of lambda-calculus, and it has since been her language of predilection. Her performances typically consist in from-scratch improvisations, with an accent on dark, melancholic melodies and textures. She is also a proficient knitter, and has been working on bridging this practice with live-coding by studying the ways that procedural methods can be used to design knitting patterns in a way that respects the specificities of this art form. 🔗 🔗 https://agathe.herrou.fr 🔗 🔗 /th4music If you want to join the talk, concert (and dinner!) and even the workshop that will follow during that same weekend, don't wait longer to get your tickets. Seats are limited and time is flying! Link to register in our bio. video credits: Dark fairytale livecoding #tidalcycles @th4music

Concert alert 🚨 🚨 🚨 🚨 29th May will be an evening dedicated to live coding and we are absolutely delighted to count on the greatest Alex McLean @yaxupaxo We start at 5 pm with a talk followed by a concert-dinner at 7pm. On that evening we will also have the amazing @th4music whose dedicated post will come next of course! 😀 Both together, and on the weekend following (30 and 31 May) they will get deep into pattern thinking and how it can ground contemporary creative technology in ancient arts and crafts. To do this they will be working with glue guns, motors, lollypop sticks and code examples, to explore how complex patterns of sound and movement can be made from simple parts. They will introduce the free, web-based strudel software for this, exploring its possibilities for live coding music, while connecting it with other pattern-based codes like knitting and weaving patterns. Check our programme and register fast!!! Seats are limited. If you are joining both, the talk/performance/dinner + workshop, we recommend to select the combo ticket in our website! _______ The exhibition La Sociedad Automática by Asturian artist Félix Luque will be on view at Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial during #LEVFestival. A critical reflection exploring how automation and algorithmic systems are reshaping contemporary life. Created in collaboration with Iñigo Bilbao Lopategui, Damien Gernay and Vincent Evrard, the exhibition unfolds as an unsettling, dystopian environment of automatons that never falter, never tire and never revolt. A world where human presence is no longer central. A compelling invitation to face the technologies that increasingly govern us.
