11 years.. it has been 11 years since I last made a DP reel.
Yes, I haven't DP'd as often in the last few years as I did in the earlier parts of my career but our journeys take an unexpected turns both good and bad.
The past year (with work as slow as it was) gave me an opportunity to reassess where my passion was - I intentionally took a step back from the role of Director of Photography because I had several very negative experiences that sort of ruined the idea of taking on larger projects, so I stuck to smaller (or even one man band) DP jobs.
But in retrospect, those moments were tests for me - and not that I failed, but I didn't even allow myself to overcome. Looking back at the works I've done, I forgot just how much I loved filming all the different kinds of projects I was fortunate to be apart of whether they were narrative, documentary, commercial, and so on!
I also don't want people to associate me with working PURELY in the commercial world, I love passion projects, I love narrative, music videos, and I'd rather keep myself active and engaged with the film community than sit around waiting.
Cheers to all of the creatives I have grown with whether you were in front of the camera or behind it alongside me. I hope to see y'all on set again soon! Lets make something memorable!

It took 4 years to update my steadicam reel but I finally did it.
To all of the DPs, Directors, Producers, Production Companies, and Agencies that entrusted me to be apart of your creative journey, thank you. Especially to those who pushed me to trust my own gut, provided me their knowledge to expand my own, or gave me the tough love to be more intentional with my work/motion, I thank you even more!
To everyone who ever recommended me for work or gave me opportunities, I would not be here without y'all.
To every single 1AC, 2AC, Camera Utility, Grip, Camera PA and so on, my work would not be possible without your hard work, drive, attention to detail, and consideration of my needs as an operator (particularly when it came to safety).

I got the honor of getting the first @mid49accessories DB-8 after a successful final test of their battery runtime readout on the @sonycine Burano EVF!
Happy to have helped Ryan and his team - I didn't do much but was able to offer my camera when needed so they could continue to run more tests.
Of all the power distro options coming out for the Burano, this one (to me) is by far the best of the bunch.
And just in time for a music video I'm DPing later today 🤙

DJI Ronin 2 package is available for any kind of shoot! Whether going handheld or hard mounted, it can be quick released to change over in a flash.
Package can go out on its own, or if you need an operator or tech - I can come out with it.
It includes the cinemilled and ingite digi accessories, 6 x TB50 batteries, joystick, and hardware for mounting (details can be found on my sharegrid - linked on my website).
Additionally, I have the Nodo Inertia Max wheels available (hidden in the background on the cart) that can be paired with it for remote operating with a more finessed look and precise control. Noel is also using my SmallHD 1303 to view the shot while operating the wheels.

Just two weeks ago I posted a story of how much work I had lost and how slow things had been. I don't usually post, even less so about when I feel insecure or vulnerable - but finally being honest with my predicament grew positive fruit.
The universe answered.
Thankfully I have work (for now) every week and with other job prospects already in May. I'm insanely thankful to the forces that made that happen and the people who gave me an opportunity.
Just wrapped up a 2 day job for Lenovo and the Dallas Cowboys as B cam / gimbal op. A bit chaotic at times but we came out with some really great stuff I think.
On day 1, the movi pro completely crapped out but I was able to offer my Ronin 2 and brought it on just in the nick of time to get what we needed (so please disregard the build, we did it in less than 2 hours lol). My gimbal doesn't go out much so maybe if I post about it more, it'll get more attention 😁

On a seriois note, welcoming my new camera! I haven't owned one since my FS7 that I sold years ago. My itch to get back into DPing has been building since 2022 and I wanted to have a strong reliable camera. Coincidentally I had always thought if Sony made a camera between the Venice and fx9 that would be perfect (for me) and here it is!
Can't wait to get back to the grind and make stuff with you all.
I'll be dropping a new DP reel in the next month or so. Considering the last time I made a DP reel was in 2014... 10 years ago!! Unreal how long it's been.

A prep day when using a Trinity 2. It's crucial to properly balance and sort out the camera build ahead of time.
Recently worked on a Dell commercial with @caseystolbergdp - the depth and specificity that Casey spoke to me regarding the shots was everything an operator could dream of. I was never left wanting more information to understand the shots.
The key word for the shoot was 'intention' - make every move truly count and feel purposeful. As long as I've been doing this, it's moments like this that make me realize I still can learn things on set, even something as simple as a mindset.
@brooksbirdsall was a treasure during prep and on set. Your flexibility to work with me on the camera build to make it work flawlessly for the 360 rolls was crucial.
I know not all shoots can go as smoothly, but one can hope!
