Yesterday, I received my very first piece of fan mail, and it was from a man in a Texas prison 𤯠My first reaction was like⌠whhhhaaatttt nooo waaaayyy thhaattâsss craazzzyyy!?
My fellow radio DJs told me itâs a rite of passage to receive correspondence from jail. Jeff Pennfield said heâs even received calls from jail.
Honestly, reading this hand-typed note from a man I never met, who is incarcerated for a crime I may never know was pretty surreal. I did look him up, but could only find that he is scheduled to be in prison for the next 10 years.
I told my sister about it, and what she said really stuck with me: âI love it. That is amazing. I donât think you understand how much it means for someone in jail or prison to find constant comfort that is not attached to family or friends. I would be cautious, of course. But congratulations on reaching people in the darkest of places.â
Iâm very thankful for my current role in this world. Doing my best to do my best. Itâs nice to know your efforts can have a positive effect on even 1 person. I hope to reach as many as possible.

@49winchester played at @kesslertheater on Friday night, blowing away Dallas with their phenomenal stage presence and killer sound. This year, the band has played @theryman , the @opry , the @colbertlateshow and has been called âCountry Musicâs Hot New Bandâ and âeveryoneâs favorite new group at AmericanaFestâ by @rollingstone .
Itâs hard to argue with what everyoneâs excited about - my first time seeing them live on Friday was a treat to be remembered. Catch out tour dates at their link in bio @49winchester

@lukasnelsonofficial has been one of my favorite shows this year so far. He was a sweet soul on stage and a great performer. He kept the audience engaged, made a lot of eye contact with the crowd and sounded better than the record. What a gem. Grateful â¨
