4d + Iris and focus motors with a @zerooptik Olympus OM, with a bunch of custom bits and bobs: 3d metal printed NATO rail PL mount and handle. 6061 custom top plate machined by @possumsolutions + Preston MDR mount. All powered by a modified TB50 plate by @ignitedigiaustralia .
New low profile handheld plate!! Weighing only 275 grams, this rigid plate gives a flat surface to balance a camera handheld on your shoulder. Tested on set this summer and was a huge hit.
The plate has 15mm rod clamps built in for attaching spider grips to the front. Zero flex between the handles and the camera.
Attach directly to the bottom of the camera or, in my preferred setup, add a low profile sliding dovetail plate on top from Apex, Panavision or Keslow. This allows for a perfect balance to be achieved.
Laser cut Velcro on the bottom of the plate provides an easy attachment point for shoulder pads, but is recessed enough to put a flat RBQ or any quick release plate on.

Finally gave in.
After getting hassled by more than a few of you (you know who you are), I finally started utilizing probing on the horizontal. Had a multi-op job come up where in-process probing just made sense—and yeah, I’m kicking myself for not doing this sooner. Game changer.
Big thanks to @possumsolutions and @patriot_mucheenist for hopping on a FaceTime call and walking me through a few things.
Unfortunately I can’t show the parts in process, but you can watch the stock get probed.
I’ll admit, I did crash it the first week, thanks to @ryan.alberg for letting me borrow his to keep the job running while I wait for a replacement from @renishawengineering
