Three brands. Three very different takes on sustainability. . . . A few weeks ago we launched our new Lunch & Learn Series. And in this first installment, Interior Designer, Isabella Patrick of Isabella Patrick Interiors lead a conversation about Sustainability In Practice with the founders of 3 brands we Represent that have Sustainability as a core Pillar of their business but three different approaches to it. Edward Wakefield of @before.colour offered a quieter perspective, positioning himself and his team less as innovators and more as custodians of materials and crafting techniques that have existed for centuries, sometimes millennia. For Edward, sustainability isn’t the goal, it’s the byproduct. Approach design from a place of purity and restraint, and what’s left is something inherently sustainable. Question for you (the viewer) ⬇️ “Where do you draw the line between innovation and preservation in your own work?” Let us know in the comments! A mudroom that refuses to look like one—proof that the hardest-working spaces don’t have to feel utilitarian. Grateful to @assembledworks for introducing us to @stacklab_design , whose custom-designed Felt Bench brings together form, function, and our client’s passion for reuse and repurposing. Old but Gold projects: when automation meets art ✨ Back in 2021, we partnered with Stacklab on a project that pushed us outside the typical “machine” mindset. Built using Item extruded aluminum profiles and a whole lot of lighting, this installation was all about precision, structure, and creativity coming together. Not every project is about throughput and ROI. Some are about creating something that makes people stop, look, and feel something. And honestly… we love those just as much. ;)

THE ASH CONSOLE 😍 . . In this episode of OTF, On The Floor, our President @justinorlansky shares more of his favorite consoles. This one is among the most substantial pieces in the showroom, the Ash Console by @stacklab_design . Crafted from reclaimed ash, this piece gives new life to material that would have otherwise gone to waste. At nearly 500 pounds, you feel that weight in its presence, grounded by STACKLAB’s signature pedestal base. Part of a larger Ash Collection that includes dining and end tables, all made locally with materials sourced near their Toronto studio. Stop by, see it in person, and experience the scale for yourself. OTF is Produced by @andersonsomerselle Shot & Edited by @parallelplay.studio In partnership with @somersellemedia

When the outside elements of nature influence each material choice in our Mountain Village, Telluride project. In slide 2 , we designed this custom walnut and steel base dining table with @thomashayesstudio . The importance of this table is very significant to the space. The clients wanted a leaf for their table , but the windows were slanted . Thomas created a mechanism that allowed the table to only slide one way ! There are moments when the world folds in on itself—when distance dissolves and someone once considered “far away” feels, quite suddenly, like family. Our recent visit with Hilary Lipkin, @lipkinh , was one of those moments. A distant cousin, perhaps—but now, unmistakably close. At our latest members’ mixer, we were reminded just how small the world can be when you allow space for connection. What begins as an introduction so often becomes something richer—community softening into kinship. Hilary embodies this beautifully: an artist deeply attuned to what makes her head, her heart, and her hands come alive. And in turn, those around her are drawn in—held by the rhythm of her craft, her warmth, her unmistakable point of view. It’s a gentle affirmation that when you follow what feels instinctive, you create with joy and curiosity, the right people find you. And sometimes, they stay. Thank you, Hilary, for opening your whimsical home to us, and for sharing your story so generously. And to our Rue Pigalle community—thank you for showing up, for staying curious, and for continuing to champion the makers in our own backyard. If you’ve been considering joining us, take this as your sign. Subscribe to our Newsletter, our substack, join a trip, join our community. ✨ A shout out to @stephanibuchmanphoto for her creative eye and skills in helping capture and creating this reel.

The Winter Show @thewintershownyc At this year’s exhibition, Maison Gerard curated a display of 20th Century masterpieces, pieces from the Art Deco period and beyond, interspersed as always with some important new works by some of the gallery’s most sought-after contemporary artists. This year’s booth was anchored by a selection of extraordinary early 20th century works exhibited by the gallery for the very first time. Chief among them were a pair of sleek armchairs by Dominique, a duo of Macassar tables by Jules Leleu (one with mirrored glass, the other marquetry), and an extremely rare — possibly unique — modernist lamp by Jacques Adnet. Perhaps most exciting of these was a 1930s custom version of Charlotte Perriand’s famous chaise longe. Doubly rare for its unusual copper finish (probably executed by Thonet), it was owned by Yves Saint-Laurent & Pierre Bergé, and was one of the only pieces the latter kept to furnish his New York pied-à-terre at the Hôtel Pierre after most of their collection went to auction. Amid these was a selection of stunning contemporary works executed in glass, bronze, and ceramic by Kiko Lopez, Guy Bareff, Aline Hazarian, Stacklab, Nancy Lorenz, and Carol Egan, to name a few. Among the most notable of these new pieces were Artist’s Hand VI, a beautifully hand-polished bronze chandelier by Niamh Barry; Consola, an almost preternatural console table from Ayala Serfaty’s Janus Series; and Gstaad, an astonishing eight panel screen by Miriam Ellner, who rendered the Swiss town in eglomisé. // Avoca Residence is a Mid-Century marvel. Located in an iconic Toronto mid-century high rise, this 1-bed, 2-bath condo is a testament to considered, enduring design. Due to the condo’s size, it was important for us to keep things minimal while creating a space rich in personality and style. One of our main focuses was doing justice to our client’s extensive art collection, adding key accent lights to subtly highlight pieces without overwhelming the space. The addition of black-and-walnut cabinetry to the kitchen merged visual depth with functionality, providing plenty of much-needed storage space. One element stood out to us on our client’s wish list and it quickly went from ‘would-like’ to ‘must-have’: the @degournay wallpaper in the powder room. A celebration of the building’s history and personality and our client’s passion for art, this project combines rich minimalism with unique, creative flair. #carvresidentialdesign Interior Design: @carvprojects in collaboration with @stacklab_design Project: #carvavocaresidence Photography: @patrickbiller #carvprojects #torontointeriordesigner #torontoresidentialdesign CARV Projects / Roncesvalles Interior Designer / Interior Design Firm Toronto / Rosedale Interior Designer / Moore Park Interior Designer / Moore Park Condo Renovation / Rosedale Condo Renovation
