Artist-set designer,
@staci.lee took inspiration from nature for ‘Quiet Earth’. Her work spans three windows on Orchard Street and answers the question: how do you come up with an original idea?
Here, Staci gives us a peek into her camera roll, where she documented her creative process.
“[The windows] remind me of being in science class, with diagrams showing how a seed germinates,” says Staci. “I wanted something simple. I spend a lot of time outdoors, and
that’s where my mind has space for ideas to grow. I wanted to capture this feeling of stillness and growth through a seed.”
Staci’s interest in the natural world means she was mindful of using organic materials – including wood, soil and turf – in her work. So, keep an eye out as the windows begin to change with the seasons.
Visit Selfridges London to see Staci’s work in the Orchard Street windows until June.
