For W Magazine China, The Art Issue — Living Art. I kept returning to the feeling that nature is never only a backdrop. Land slowly enters the body — through labor, memory, gesture, and the things we carry every day. Editor-at-large @fxm_mumu brought six years of life in Yunnan into this collaboration — a mountainous province in the far south of China, much closer to forests and rice fields than to the fashion capitals we are usually associated with. From that distance came the rhythms of the seasons, baskets, woven hats, vegetables, grains, flowers, and the ordinary objects shaped by repeated use and time. The boundary between person and landscape began to dissolve. I keep returning to the feeling that art does not live apart from life. It is already there, in daily gestures, in labor, and in the quiet wisdom of living close to the land. Last but not least, more from the @parco_official summer campaign. The day we shot in the Tibetan region of Qinghai, the desert saw the heaviest rain the locals had seen in years. We waited all day, almost giving up, until the clouds finally broke late in the afternoon. Working in nature, again and again, has taught me that you cannot ask Mother Nature to give you what she does not want to give. You wait, you stay open, and eventually she offers you something even better than what you imagined. Thank you to my dear team for staying with me through the rain, especially when I had almost lost hope. @zipengli @paul_mcgill @iamjonsi @chirstina__chung

PARCO has always represented, to me, a rare kind of freedom in image-making. Since the campaigns of the 90s, it has created a space where fashion could become something larger: a world, a feeling, a mythology. For this second chapter of my campaign for PARCO, I wanted to stay close to that spirit. The summer story became a journey toward an earth mother figure: something ancient, quiet, and waiting — the part of ourselves that exists deeper than identity or performance, something instinctive, rooted. The idea was not to arrive at something new, but to return to something that was already there. Thank you again to @parco_official for trusting me with this world, and to the team I love for bringing it to life. Thank you @louisvuitton for taking me to Yunnan for this New Year campaign — to the valleys of the Huayao Dai, the “flower-waisted” Dai people, named for the intricately woven belts and silver ornaments worn at their waists, bright with color and movement. Butterflies in flight. A peacock somewhere in the distance. Grateful to share this journey with @wmagchina May the Year of the Horse carry us forward — and bring us home again. Happy New Year 🎇 . 𝐏𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐀 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐥 _______________ @kinbykin is a Chinese photographer whose work bridges fashion, culture and the quiet poetry of human connection. Having grown up in Canada and trained in fine arts and garment design, he brings a rare tactile sensibility to his imagery, blending visual softness, emotional depth and sculptural precision. His photographs move between dream and documentation, celebrating strong women, ancestral cultures and timeless rituals. Winner of the Prix du Public at the 38th Hyères Festival, Kin captures the sensual and spiritual pulse of humanity through images that feel like memories made visible, infused with light, tenderness and the texture of time. Guided by a deep respect for nature and the interdependence between humans and their environments, his practice seeks balance and beauty in simplicity. Both cinematic and intimate, Kin Chan Coedel’s universe merges contemporary aesthetics with ancient wisdom, inviting viewers to pause, breathe and rediscover the grace of being alive.

For many years, long before I ever became a photographer, PARCO was already an artistic reference for me. Its iconic campaign visuals from the 90s shaped how I understood fashion imagery, the work of Eiko Ishioka has lived on my moodboards for as long as I can remember. So many photographers I deeply admire have created unforgettable images for PARCO. I never imagined I would one day be part of that lineage. And yet, here we are. My first PARCO campaign, creatively directed and shot by me, made with a team I truly love and trust. Costumes by @zipengli . Music by the incredible @iamjonsi . Beautiful types by @lisrah Choreography and co-direction with @paul_mcgill_ ❤️ Grateful beyond words. Thank you to my producer Tian Tian and everyone who brought this to life, and thank you @parco_official for the trust. @parco_shibuya_official

When I was little, I was told that the higher my wishes hang, the closer they are to reaching the heavens. For this campaign we found ourselves beneath the sacred Jade Dragon Snow Mountain—its thirteen peaks long seen as the body of a giant dragon guarding the land. Thank you @celine for the beautiful trip. @qiu.bohan @sisi_zq @boh.project @g.l_production

In many southern regions of China, there is a tradition of tying wishes to trees — letting the wind carry what we cannot hold, and trusting that what is meant to arrive, will. Thank you @celine for having me create this campaign so close to my memories of home.
