Beyond his solo work, Stephan is also a key part of the iconic roaming party series Bob and Shirley, where space, environment, and discovery are central to the experience. SPF 50 is a DJ, producer, and audio engineer based in New York.  Over several releases, including 2023’s 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 on Bliss Point, SPF 50 has developed a deep, driving, full body psychedelia built of expansive textures and sub-heavy grooves. His live set, which he debuted this year, envelopes dance floors in a meditative trance as it builds to massive, club-shaking moments of ecstatic release. Since 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦, SPF 50 has continued to contribute the Bliss Point sound as the label’s go-to mix engineer, sculpting multiple releases on the label into their final, full form. The party will consist of four live sets from Bliss Point friends and collaborators: SPF 50's driving low-end psychedelia, Max In The World & Kroba’s resonant, swirling downtempo, Matük’s percussive conjuring of decolonial sonics, and the debut of FEDRA’s live set, a portal to a deconstructed club future. The hour-long performances will be accompanied by a reactive light installation by Waldo Walle, forming a glowing, growing circle of faces that make the label what it is. Spaces that match our needs are hard to come by. Over the years, @sun_brooklyn , Bushwick lofts, @arcana.work , the Boiler long ago, and Beadel Street among others have each given us a home. And just when we thought we were finally priced out of throwing our beloved long-running DIY Halloween party, a kind and like-minded fabrication crew welcomed us into their workspace. 
As we plan this party, I kept thinking about what draws me to this tradition in the first place — the feeling of being transported, of music pulling you somewhere deeper. I’ve always been drawn to sounds that feel like spiraling down a tunnel (hello @ptrckrssll — the journeys and landscapes you create in your sets stay with me), and serendipitously, the less obvious dance floor of this very place turned out to be exactly that. 
I’m so thankful for this community — for the evolving group of friends, collaborators, and dreamers who make it all possible. The world’s climate is dire, but projects like these remind me how much beauty and connection can still grow in the cracks — and how much more we can build if we refuse to let them stop there. The recording from my debut live set at @dripping.fyi 2025 is now online. Anyone who knows me knows how much this day and this set meant to me. I truly can’t thank @relaxerelaxer and @babymfleo for the trust, and for always pushing their friends and peers to the next level. It’s hard to put into words what this felt like. I’ve been wanting to perform live for over a decade, but I needed that last nudge to finally make it happen. I’m eternally grateful to @dripping.fyi for giving me the opportunity, and to my friends for just being the fucking best.
